May I just be brutally honest here

May I just be brutally honest here?

I’m the co-host of the Weekly Wrap and for the first time in 79 weeks, my post is not ready and our link ups is live…sigh.

May I just be brutally honest here?

I am passionate about this link up we have built and with our success also comes more “work” for both Holly and I. I feel like I need to insert a disclaimer here that the following opinions are my own and not the opinions of Holly.

I know my friends will understand and take it in the concept it is meant but I am not going to allow this to take over my weekends anymore.

Rather than throw in the towel, I’m simply making some changes. I will have a Weekly Wrap post each week but it will be when I can devote the time needed to prepare it and I’ll link up just like you do, when I’m ready. If this goes live as scheduled at 5:00PM, I still have 7 hours of the weekend left. I don’t know about you but my weekends are alreadyย way too short!

I’ve struggled with this and this is the best solution I’ve come up with.ย I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend and I’ll see you a little later!

  1. The weekends are definitely too short! I would also struggle to always have a post ready on Sun afternoon which is why I always plan to post on Monday. I definitely understand and Im sure everyone else does as well! I can tell that hosting this awesome link up is a ton of work and I am so appreciative that you make the time for it!

  2. What if you change your workout week to run from Friday to Thursday and you write your Weekly Wrap on Thursday nights and schedule for it to post on Sunday at 5 PM? Just a thought!

  4. Tricia, seriously, you are the sweetest person and a linkup shouldn’t be stressing either one of you out! I truly can’t imagine having to read every single blog on the linkup. You gotta live your life too (and I sincerely hope you’re basking in your half afterglow right this very minute!).

  5. I totally understand how much work it is to have it ready by Sunday and host a weekly link up! I think it’s great whenever we can get a post up, considering all the training and everything else we have going on.

  6. Girl! You know I feel ya!!

I haven’t blogget in almost a month. Finding the time is getting harder and harder.

Do you boo and we will connect soon. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

  7. I feel you. I have enough trouble writing my own posts, much less hosting a giant link up like you guys do. Enjoy your time. That’s what is really important here. We aren’t going anywhere.

  8. Girl… just chill :). It is blogging. If someone has a problem waiting a few hours, or a day, for the Weekly Wrap Up Link Up, that is their problem, not yours. This is supposed to be a fun hobby and not feel like an obligation- so don’t let it! We already have enough obligations in life!

My weekly wrap up post is always Monday morning and I feel like most people do, because we want to write about the weekend. I actually write mine throughout the week and schedule on Sunday, so Sunday doesn’t get much coverage. Y’all read all the blogs linked on the link up and to me that is outstanding, I don’t think I could do that.

    • You truly don’t know how much this means to hear you say that Amy! I want to have the time to blog and I want to have the time to enjoy weekends with not only family but friends, the struggle is real and something is going to fall to the wayside. I’ll figure it all out hopefully sooner rather than later. ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. I’ve started to pare down some of my “responsibilities.” Don’t feel bad, it’s not just you. ๐Ÿ˜‰

And thank you for hosting week after week. The weekly wrap is awesome.

  10. It’s ok to refocus!! Don’t let it get you down. I love your link ups with Holly regardless if it’s at 5:00 or the next morning. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  13. Blogging and connecting with others is supposed to be fun and if the joy is taken out due to deadlines, then I totally understand. I wish I had the time to do all the things I do PLUS blog on time and linkup but I have to be honest with myself here! Hopefully in the near future I can linkup again with you guys. Do your thing and take your time and if you make it great and if you link up later, Iโ€™m sure we ALL understand!!

  15. I often feel like I need a weekend from my weekend. There just aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done. Blogging will be here when you have the time and the energy. Don’t feel bad.
