Weekly Wrap 123 MS Gulf Coast Half Weekend

Welcome to the Weekly Wrap 123  MS Gulf Coast Half Weekend. I really do not know what is keeping me going, coffee perhaps? Yes, I am once again on the road and running in not one but 2 races this weekend.

Weekly Wrap

I thank you for joining us in the Weekly Wrap. This link up was created to help all of us support each other in staying active, whatever that may look like for you! Let us know what is going on in your neck of the woods. How do you balance this crazy thing called life? Link up your posts each week with us, Holly from HoHo Runs and myself here at MissSippiPiddlin.

This race is in my home state and it is put on by the same organizers who put on the Louisiana Marathon races in Baton Rouge and let me just tell you they know how to have an after party!

Speaking of parties, we know how to have a pre-race party! I hope you caught up with me and my friends, new and old on IG! I am all about some hook-ups…. no silly not that kind of hook up? Gutter mind! Geeze 😉 🙂

I kind of had a sucky week of activity leading up to this weekend though. I’m not beating myself up about it but it does look pretty bad on paper anyway.

Weekly Activity

Sunday – Rest
Monday – Leg day – light
Tuesday – Nothing
Wednesday – Nothing
Thursday – 2.5 miles
Friday – Travel
Saturday – MS Gulf Coast 5k

MS Gulf Coast

I appreciate all the comments on our Girls weekend in PCB. I hope I will have time to recap the entire weekend but I haven’t even started on that post yet.

Shots for the celebration

Did you realize there are 5 Friday’s and Saturdays in this month! It feels like I have been given time lol! After these 2 weekends, I still have 3 more before the end of the year! Maybe I can sneak in some Christmas shopping or some festive event or maybe I should just REST!

Coming Up:

That will do it for me as far as races go this year!  I have nothing up my sleeve either! BUT my 2018 calendar isn’t what it normally is.  Thankfully I have time to work on that though!

Some of the things I do have my eye on are: Louisiana Half in January, Gasparilla in February, Wine 10k and Montgomery Half in March. After that, it is anyone’s guess. I will throw out this, I have been thinking more and more about another marathon!

Ha, yup I’ll just leave it right there with that!!!

Will I see you at any of these upcoming races? Give me a suggestion for my second marathon.

I hope you all have a great week! Wishing all those who are racing great weather and a speedy finish!

Cheers,
Tr!c!@

  3. That looks like so much fun. I’m not too familiar with marathons on your side of the country, but MCM is definitely on my bucket list. If you don’t mind traveling to smaller races, the Uberthons Oregon Summer Marathon is my favorite marathon that I’ve run (out of 4, so…I’m no expert)

  4. Wow! You’ve had a busy month. A hot race and then a cold one. Crazy huh?

I sure hope our paths cross in 2018?

  6. I am signed up for one half in 2018. It’s not even one I would normally sign up for, but you’ll have to wait to hear about that with the rest of the readers.

I absolutely think you needed some rest after all the fun, all the races & all the travel! Enjoy!

  7. I don’t know how you do it! Heck, I ran a 5k yesterday and I’m wiped out! LOL! Seriously, though, I”d love to do one more marathon. I just don’t know if I have it in me any more.

  9. Wow, you are AMAZING. It was so cold here this weekend and it was snowy – not the best running weather near me. I think you enjoy some R&R after all your races 🙂

  11. I personally love that we have so many weekends this month! It’s like extra holiday time. Plus, it helps with so many parties and events, I guess things aren’t always falling on the same date. It looks like you had a really wonderful race and girls weekend too!

  12. I would love to do a race in the south someday! Next year I’m doing all trails (I think). All in Michigan, a couple of marathons, 50Ks, and my goal race will be a 50 miler in September.

  13. I’m jealous of the warm weather and sun! Hmm, Houston is a great marathon, although it’s January so that could be a year long goal… or an east coast fall marathon like Philly or Richmond?

  15. It does seem like a long month with 5 weekends, but we’re already getting towards the middle of it. Crazy! I don’t have anything on my 2018 yet, so it’s wide open. I was looking at races, but I’m giving myself a break on that. I’m just enjoying my time now.

  16. I don’t know how you do it, but I certainly enjoy following your adventures! I’ve had great times at both Chicago and Houston marathons.

  17. DO ya’ll know how badly I want to do Gasparilla? Someone needs to gift me an airline ticket and lodging….any takers?

  18. At least I’m not the only one who had a light week! I only ran twice aside from the race I did. I think this month is just meant to be a “take it easy” month for me.

  20. According to IG, you guys had a ton of fun on the Coast despite the surprise extreme winter weather! Ahhh, that marathon bug is quite contagious, isn’t it!! xoxo

  21. I can’t wait to see which marathon you might run! Looks like some great races ahead in 2018! Louisiana is on my list but I haven’t signed up for anything in January just yet. I may run the Blues again but not sure. I enjoyed spending time with you last weekend!!

  22. You have been one busy lady! I swear I need some of your energy 🙂

  23. It was great to hang with you two weekends in a row down on the Gulf! Boy did we have the weather extremes or what? I hope you can rest up during the next few weeks. All that traveling and running does take a toll. 😉 I too want to run a marathon next year. Decisions, decisions, and lotteries too. I guess I’ll figure it out eventually.

  24. You have a busy year of racing already in the works! I can’t believe it’s almost 2018!!!???! I’m running a marathon in June and maybe one more in September. So excited to get back into the racing world again!
