Weekly Wrap

Why do I feel like this is a tutorial? Ohhhh, it’s because this is the Weekly Wrap 101 edition!!! Can you really believe it is already into July? Yea, I can hardly wrap my brain around it too, but our “Guest Host” series rolls on! This week I’d like to welcome Christine from Into the Glimmer.  Stop by and give her a warm Weekly Wrap Welcome. You can even link up from her blog!

Holly and I may be taking a much-needed break but we sure do appreciate all of you who continue to make this link up so great. If you’d like to be a part of the Guest Host series let us know.

Runfessions and the reset button

Just like the Guest Host continues, so does the “Water” theme! We spend the long holiday weekend down on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and it trickled into Tuesday of this past week.  After a 3-day workweek (I could get used to that) on Friday afternoon, we headed to the Tombigbee River in Alabama with a different set of friends.

Weekly Activity

Like many of you, I’m still slinging sweat this week

It’s amazing just how much you sweat before 7:00 in the morning! Good grief! My clothes and hair are dripping wet after a 30-minute run. To stay accountable here is how my activity played out:

Sunday – Run 3.15 Miles – This was my make up for missing Saturday’s run.
Monday – Rest and relaxation on a boat
Tuesday – Run 3 Miles
Wednesday – Run 3 Miles
Thursday – Run 3.32 Miles
Friday – Run 1 mile
Saturday – ???

What’s up with all the Saturday ??? marks? I had to get my post ready before heading to the River and I did not even pack my laptop! You’ll have to check my Instagram account to see if Tammy and I actually got in our Saturday morning run. If I was a betting person….oh wait, I AM a betting person! 🙂 I’m gonna say we did! 😉

Since that’s about all I have to contribute to this post I’m going to leave you with some pictures from last weekend.

I won tickets to “Scarlet is the New Black – Prison Break” Escape Room at the Scarlet Pearl Casino! Let me set the scene, we were wrongly convicted of a crime we did not do! We first had to break out of jail then had to figure out who committed the crime so we could clear our names!

We did escape and correctly guessed the real killer, course we did have a lot of help from the organizers, but we had a ball! If you haven’t played and “Escape Room” game, you really should check it out! It’s great fun for a group of people. Not scary at all, I seem to hear more and more people think you are locked in a dark run and are trying to get out as things are trying to get you. Although that would also be fun in my book, this is not like that at all.

This was the boat we got to spend the day on. I can only dream of us having something this nice!

What’s better than having your own small yacht you ask?? Friends that have a small yacht! 😉

Burgers on the Boat

This may not be cool to anyone but me, I just thought it was pretty dang awesome we got to cook burgers on the stern of the boat!

Although this looks like it should be the moon, it is the sun late one afternoon.

An InLinkz Link-up

  1. Looks like a fun week! I think its great that you were able to grill out there on the boat! Nice job getting in your workouts, despite the heat!

  2. “Rest and relaxation on a boat”…I can’t think of a greater activity!!

  3. Kudos to you for heading out without your laptop. We all need a break every now and then.

    • I never do that, leave home without my laptop on a trip. But there was no time to use it and the services was really spotty! Being unplugged is pretty awesome sometimes!

  4. You are killing the water theme! Love it! I loved all the pics! We are playing an Escape room game this week to celebrate my daughter’s birthday- we are looking forward to it! I am lucky that we can sit on our dock and watch the fireworks at Legoland. They have done some great shows!
Mary Beth Jackson recently posted…Summer loving, sweating and running! My Profile

    • Wow you are lucky at that. I guess I didn’t realize Legoland was as close to you but now that I think about it you have posted pictures of you running near there. I hope you have a great time doing the escape room!

  5. Your Escape room adventure looks like fun – that’s a fun theme! I’ve never done one but I have a friend who does them quite often. Have a great week!

    • I agree it was a lot of fun trying to figure out how to work together to escape then solve the murder mystery! Great fun!!!

  6. I keep hearing great things about Escape Room – I’d love to try it out!
The humidity has really been getting to me on these runs…you take a little break and then your body forgets how tough it is, ugh! You did a great job this past week!

Oh and I’m so jealous of the yacht, and the burgers!! I need some friends like yours, lol!

  7. I love spending time on the water and it looks as though you all were living it up!
We have an escape room in town but i’ve never gone. It’s hard to get 8 people and I believe thats what you need.

    • Meranda, try the escape room, you don’t have to know all 8 people if you have a group of less it just means they may open it to others to fill the room. Plus it’s just as much fun with people you don’t know. It’s amazing to see how you all work together when you need too.

  8. A much deserved fun week for you! I am really anxious to see how long you can carry this water theme!! lol

  9. Looks like a fun week! I’d be excited to grill off the end of a yacht too 🙂

  10. I didn’t get to see any fireworks for the 4th – I wrongly assumed they would have them ON the 4th, but most places around us had them Saturday before, so I missed them ALL!

    • Well since we were traveling back on the 4th, seeing the fireworks earlier worked out great for us. It’s hard when a holiday is in the middle of the week.

  11. 101 – wow! That’s a lot of weeks!

I have even been dripping sweat here in Montana, it has been so hot recently. Usually it is pretty dry here, but the weather decided to add insult to injury last week and throw in some humidity on top of the heat.

  12. Ha ha–I laughed at the “tutorial” edition of the Weekly Wrap 101! Well, what I learned this week is that we’re all sweating buckets on our runs, ha! But it’s nice to have a community to commiserate with! Glad you enjoyed an amazing time with friends on the water!

  14. I have to say that you are having a fantastic summer! Would you rather have the RV or the yacht? Wouldn’t it be fun to live on the water?

  15. oh wow, what a fun week!!!!! me and my sister will be doing an escape room in Charleston this fall. I’m looking forward to it!!!! ive been loving your IG pics here lately. and yes I agree that grilling on the stern of a boat is awesome. I would do it everyday if I could!!!! I wish I had a friend with a yacht! or I think I would rather have the yacht actually 🙂

  16. Way to get your miles in! Looks like a fun week too! I still haven’t done an escape room but I am hoping to get some friends to go at some point. It sounds like a fun time! Oh I wish I knew someone with a yacht! 🙂

  17. Escape rooms look like such fun! I read about some friends going to a Harry Potter themed one and I was jealous lol!

It’s incredible how much you sweat in the summer while running! I was soaked after my 13 miler this Saturday! More so now than ever I’ve been ditching the shirt and joining the sports bra squad.

  18. I am one of those people who imagine being stuck in a dark room while things try to get you – and the escape room for that reason doesn’t appeal to me. I should give it try – I’d probably love it – maybe one day!
