Weekly Wrap 102 Muddy Water

I’ve been on quite the roller coaster ride this week and not the fun kind! Between having to deal with the replacement of a washer and dryer, leaving my Garman at the River camp and family issues, I’m just tired, so very tired and my emotions are just raw. I’m still working on getting the hang of my part time job, you know the one that is really a full time job right now. This week that rung true. I worked almost 12 hrs Saturday in the office. But I got a good bit done, figured out and fixed a lot. Nothing like coming into a job with problems. Oh and I’ll just add to this misery bus, my AC went out in my car. Just shoot me now! 🙁

Let me see if I can turn all of this around and pick out the positives, cause its all about the state of mind right? I sure had better things to drop a grand on and a new washer and dryer weren’t at the top of that list, but it is so nice and clean and I can wash all my clothes in it spaghetti straps and all. The other one ate any kind of straps. My Garman has been found and will be making its way back to me come tomorrow. We’re going to skip over the family issues… My part time job pays well, I’m frustrated at the learning curve but very willing to figure it all out. Plus with my AC going out in my car that’s 10 years old, it will make having a car note seem to hurt a little less each month.  So there, throwing some positive your way.

Weekly Wrap 102 Muddy Water

My “Water” theme continues with Muddy water. I debated on Muddy vs Rough waters this week, We don’t always understand why things happen and where we go wrong but eventually the water will clear. We will get past tough times, and justice will prevail.

Weekly Activity

The struggle bus is real and I’m in the front seat

With the sporadic sleep schedule this week and not having my Garman I’ve used it as an excuse to cut some of my runs during the week short. Not too proud of that but I was able to knock out about 5.5 miles at the crack of dawn on Saturday. Now THAT is something I haven’t done in a couple of months.

Sunday – zero
Monday – Leg Day
Tuesday – Run 1.5 Miles
Wednesday – 1.5 miles, bi, tri and abs
Thursday – nothing
Friday -1 Mile
Saturday – 5.5 mile

I was not greeted with the sunrise, despite getting up and already a mile under me when it was officially supposed to break. BUT I am thankful the rain clouds held off. It started to rain as I was getting in my car to leave.

I also had a running partner for the first couple of miles with me. This dog came running up to me just as friendly as could be, I thought it belonged to one of the guys at the boat ramp but come to find out it lives around there and visits often. I don’t even know if it’s male of female but isn’t it pretty? Stuck with me for almost two miles. Then this happened…

Yea, it was tired, ran circles around me. By that time I ran into a friend of mine who was just starting her run. We got to catch up over several miles and I left it to her to finish.

I’m hoping for new patience and wisdom this week. I’d sure appreciate it if you’d send up some prayers for me and my family as we get through some difficult times. This too shall pass.

Have you ever been without your running watch not by your choice?

Weekly Wrap 102 Muddy Water

Link up below:

  1. So sorry to hear you’re going through a tough time. Speaking of muddy waters, I lost my Garmin at a mud run almost two years ago! I didn’t know we would have to swim and my watch was not water proof. I took off my watch and held it between my teeth (lol) to swim under a log and lost it. I tried to search for it but the current in the water was too strong! I had to get a new one :(. I hope this week goes better for you!

    • Wow that sucks about your Garmin. I was very thankful my friend found it. I was without it a week but that is better than having to buy a new one.

  2. I hope the muddy waters clear for you soon. Sending hugs your way!

    Thanks for the linkup!

  4. Due to my whole charger snafu, I was almost without my watch! I feel ya!

I’m so sorry about the family issues (the worst!), the washer & dryer, and oh boy that broken AC ain’t good either (been there, done that many times when we lived in TX — it was awful!). You’ve had your 3 bad things happen so it’s time for things to turn around. Hugs, Tricia.

    And what a gorgeous dog!

  5. What a cute running buddy! I can relate to the water theme. Hope everything settles down for you soon. The day before I left on my epic vacation our basement flooded to the point you could paddle a kayak down there. Holy wrecked everything Batman.

    • Oh man Marcia not at all what you want to deal with at any time but right before a vacation??? Oh heck no!! Hope you got it taken care of.

  6. I sure hope things get better for you. Seems like when it rains it pours. I get it. Trust me, there’s a lot I don’t share on my blog. Lots of compromise at my house. Sending hugs and love and we need a drink together. Love you.

  8. Sorry to hear about your rough week. It seems like a theme this week with a number of different runners. I’m glad to see that you are still focusing on the positives (and yay for the found garmin!). Take a little time this week for some TLC. Hope the new week is a better one for you!

  9. Not having a running watch to keep track of mileage, time, distance, tec. can be freeing – but also makes me so curious! I sometimes do it when I run with a stroller because it doesn’t always pick up my distance accurately anyway … but then I’m curious what I did!

  10. Oh, Tricia, I’m sorry for all that’s going on (somehow I missed out on some of this?). I totally get the not knowing why things happen (umm, like emergency surgery, for example). I”ll be thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers <3 ((hugs))

I love all of your muddy water quotes…I can definitely relate to them. I’m sorry you’ve been having a tough time lately and I hope that your family issues get better. You’re right that it’s best to look at all the positives. That dog makes a beautiful running buddy!

  16. So sorry your dealing with these issues, especially the family problems. They can be stressful. Praying for you my friend.

Is this part time job in addition to a full time job too?

  17. I lost (well, misplaced) my watch while moving a few years ago and it was SO frustrating. It was missing for months before I found it in a bag I hadn’t unpacked yet. I’m sorry to hear about your issues – but I’m glad you’re trying to find some positives, sometimes your perspective can make all of the difference in a bad situation. At least you had a fun running buddy!

  19. Is the AC completely out? My AC was acting up in my old car a couple years ago, and turns out it was a breaker switch, or something like that. It was an easy replacement and didn’t cost that much. But of course it started doing that late-May, when I was already using the AC since it was Texas.

    • Yes the AC is out, it’s the compressor and will be quite a bit of change to fix it. With my car being over 10 years old I knew it was getting close to the end. I kept saying when a repair costs more than I’m willing to pay I’ll know when I need to replace it. I just didn’t think it would be this soon.

Just do what you can and hang on 🙂 I always tell myself something has to break.
I am glad you got your garmin back! or it is on its way back at least.
Your running partner is a beauty.

  22. So sorry to read about your tough times… sending good thoughts your way that it all gets better soon!

  23. I am sending lots and lots of positive thoughts your way, because I can feel your pain. Just one of those things alone would be tough, but take all of them together, and I’m surprised you got any activity in! Nice that you listed out the positives too. I love that a random dog joined you on your run! Hope you have a better week!

You still got in great workouts though and more mileage than me …so don’t beat yourself up! I’m still praying that job settle down and your water theme will be “smooth sailing” soon! Love you!

  27. Give yourself some grace- it sounds like a crazy week. We had to buy a new washer all of a sudden one Christmas and it was rough. It’s stressful having to pull out so much money at once but also because you need it NOW. I mean you don’t know your washer is broken until the clothes are in there and you’re ready to wash!
Amy Lauren recently posted…Weekly Rundown: July 10-16My Profile

  28. That’s exactly how it happened, Amy! At least we did have the money, and I consider a washer and a dryer a household necessity!

  29. The first few weeks at a new job are always the hardest, but get through those and things will definitely be better and better! Congrats on the new job though!
Sorry about the AC, especially in the summer! I don’t know if you’ve already had it fixed or not, but I hope it’s just the coolant, that’s a cheap repair cost I think I paid $25 last time mine went out.
Things are definitely just going to keep going toward the positive now with your attitude!!

    • We have put coolant in there. I wish that’s all it was. I’m thinking this new job came to help me pay for a newer car.

  30. Hope your luck is turning about and you have a better week.

I love running without a watch – so much more relaxing but I know the distances for most of my routes.

  31. Sorry you’ve had such a challenging week! Last week wasn’t a good one for me…and all the problems started on my birthday. Needless to say, my birthday wasn’t very enjoyable. I recently misplaced my Garmin charge and even called the hotel I stay at in June as I thought it was there. THankfully my husband has the same charger so I could at least use his and I found my yesterday! My AC just went in my car but I got it fixed…can’t live without it. Here’s to a better week!
