This week our Guest Host is Deborah from Confessions of a Mother Runner! I’m just tickled to have her host this week! Please go by and visit Deborah and see what she is up too!

Holly and I may be taking a much-needed break but we sure do appreciate all of you who continue to make this link up so great.

I feel like a broken record, this heat is exhausting and has gotten the better of me. I slept in once this week and missed my run. I still feel guilty over doing it and well it is what it is.

Weekly Wrap 104 Lake Water

My “Water” theme continues with “Lake Water” this week. Unless something happens, we are packing up the ol’ RV and headed back home. We’ve been camping for the last 10 or so days out at the lake. I have enjoyed every moment of being out there. I got some great shots of the sun rising and also setting, ate and drank well, and spent relaxing times on the boat and in the water.

Weekly Activity

Sweat Fest is going Strong

Even after getting up shortly after the sun is rising and only running a mere 3 miles, I am drenched from head to toe in sweat. Yuck, I say! Gives new meaning to the saying “It’s the Dog Days of Summer right”?

Sunday – Swimming
Monday – Run 3 Miles + Leg Day
Tuesday – Zero
Wednesday – Back workout
Thursday – 3 Miles + dancing at a concert (It counts)
Friday – nothing
Saturday – nothing

I tried to get in a little extra in the form of swimming. Those of you who know me, know I’m not like the fish I once was when I was young. My mind wanders and gets the best of me now and I think about all the things IN the water with me #thestruggleisreal soooo I don’t much like swimming. BUT here lately, we’ve been taking the boat out close to the dam where it is really deep and jumping in the middle of the lake to swim around. I decided while trying to acclimate myself to enjoying the water again, I’d also get in some exercise by swimming around the 24′ boat 3 times each time we get in the water.

After a front moved through our area over the weekend it was forecasted cooler temps Sunday so I saved my long run which wasn’t long at all to Sunday. ?Β I have to say it did feel amazing, even afterwards sitting outside drinking my coffee.

Some fun things this week:

I got to see Frank Foster at Mississippi’s Giant House Party – Neshoba County Fair.

And finally, I saved the best for last. If you missed my social media posts I will tell you I got a new car.

Weekly Wrap 104 Lake Water

I am so in love. I got a Dodge Challenger R/T with the raised Shaker hood. If I can keep my foot out of it, I am going to have a ball with this baby.

So that wraps up my week.

Have you ever had fried ribs?

  2. Happy belated birthday! That car seems perfect for you! Can you believe that I’ve never eaten ribs? It just seems like so much work and mess to get so little meat off of them. LOL

    Thanks for the linkup!

  3. Happy belated birthday!!
I totally hear you about the heat. I also feel like a broken record but it’s really affecting me this year.

  4. I love to swim, but it’s been ages since I swam in a lake! Mr. Judy isn’t really a fan and most of my friends aren’t swimmers so I rarely get the chance.

Congrats on the anniversary AND your new car. Pretty!

And no, never had fried ribs.

    • The ribs are not breaded at all just marinated and dropped in the hot grease. They had a good flavor but ribs are not something I eat much of. Just something about having to eat them off the bone I don’t like.

  8. Swimming is NOT my thing. I want to do a tri someday, and although I think I could swim good enough to save myself from drowning, it would not suffice for an event such as a tri. I definitely need lessons to learn some stroke techniques….and UGH. A swimmer’s cap? It’s just too much to process….Avoidance is working like a charm πŸ˜‰

  9. Your new ride looks awesome! Congrats!!

Swimming in a reservoir/dam freaks me out more than in the shallow part of a lake. But I’m with you. What’s *in* there?!

  14. You both must have a ton of vacation days, so that’s nice that you can constantly go on trips together. My husband has much less vacation days than I do, which limits how much we can do. Congrats on your new car!

  17. Dancing totally counts. It’s still cardio, and it’s fun.

My parents just bought a new car, with a lot of horsepower. They said they’ll need to be careful with the speed.

  18. Happy belated birthday… what a fun car!

  20. I am not much of a swimmer either. I prefer to have my face in a breathable substance at all times.

  21. Nice!! Congrats on the new car! I’ve recently gotten back into swimming but I’m pretty horrible at it and it is hard! Haven’t tried fried ribs, but sounds good! πŸ™‚

I can’t even imagine how bad the heat is there if I have been baking in Central VA, enjoy running less, you know you will be back πŸ™‚
Getting out in the water is good exercise πŸ™‚

    • Thanks Karen it will be fall before too much longer and easier to build up miles them. Just gotta make it a few more months.

  24. Congrats on the car and happy birthday! We had a cool front come in, too, and it was wonderful. It’s on its way out now though (sadly).
