Welcome to the Weekly Wrap 108 2nd Giveaway. As our “Guest Host Series” continues, this week our guest host is my friend, Teresa from Finding Fabulous at Fifty. She is not finding it she is Fabulous, you must stop by and see her. Hey, she just got back from Hawaii too!

While it is not over just yet, Holly and I sure have enjoyed this guest host series and honestly, I think it has saved the Weekly Wrap. Thank you to all who support it and to all who have taken over.

As August continues so does our celebration of the Weekly Wrap’s 2nd Anniversary. The giveaway ball is in both our courts but first, let me tell you that next month is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month & the Move More Fitness Community is moving to raise awareness for this cause. What does that have to do with my giveaway you may ask? Well since I am a Move More Fitness Ambassador they are giving one lucky reader an entry in the Move For Gold event. If I draw your name out of the hat you will receive an entry (they’ll make the donation) and also a Move More Fitness Tank and medal!

What a beautiful sunset I witnessed this past weekend.

Weekly Activity

Sunday – Zero activity
Monday – Leg Day at the Gym
Tuesday – Run 3 miles
Wednesday Chest workout (very sore)
Thursday – Run 3 miles
Friday – walking at the campground
Saturday – 5 miles

We had two great workouts at the gym this week. While I always love “Leg Day” I have recently somewhat enjoyed upper body workouts. Do you tend to not do things you are not good at? That is me, I had zero upper body strength when I started strength training and while I still have a lot of work to do I can see progress! I don’t dread them quite as much! Both workouts left my muscles sore so I know I pushed them.

On Saturday the hubs and I both had miles to log so what better way to do it than together. We participated in Flex it Pink’s #Summersolemate virtual run.

The rest of Saturday was spend visiting with friends and setting up an outdoor viewing screen of the McGregor vs Mayweather fight. The men folk went and bought a projector and a screen, aka white shower curtain. (Redneck style) and had the fight streaming to a computer and projected onto the curtain. It wouldn’t say at first it was perfect, but after a few technical difficulties, it did work perfectly! It was a fun time and we all enjoyed ourselves.

I have my longest training run (9 miles) since April on the agenda for next Saturday. Wish me luck.

What is one thing (exercise wise) you know you need to work on but just hate doing it?

I have been watching the effects of Harvey on the coast of Texas. I hope you’ll join me in praying for all those effected as well as the emergency agencies and volunteers.

  5. I really don’t like doing push-ups, probably because I find them so challenging! Its nice having a strength training plan so I know exactly what exercises I should do each week.

  10. Girl, I know when you workout with Tammy, you’re going to be sore! 🙂 We’re just the opposite though ….I dread leg day with her because that is my weakness. Arms and chest ….I can crush it! But we have to work on our weaknesses, right?? I’m about to get into training mode for the PCB half…. I think I’m ready. I’ve kind of missed my running.

  12. I love your new tank! I think it’s the first one I’ve seen that’s not wine or beer (two things I don’t really drink), I might have to buy one!

    I’m not very good at doing my upper body exercises. I really want to improve my upper body strength but somehow doing the exercises to help me improve doesn’t really happen!

  14. Having lived so long in TX, visited many of the effected areas, and still have friends there, you know I am praying for them. Austin is far enough inland — of course there is still flooding and all that rain to contend with — all my friends are safe (including a few in Houston).

    Good luck on that 9 miler! I have 10, 11, & 12 milers coming up in the next 3 weeks! Hopefully the nice weather we’re enjoying right now will hold.

  19. Sunsets and sunrises usually don’t translate very well in photos, but your photo is gorgeous! Ha–I am the same way with my strength work and not doing the things I don’t like to do. I actually like upper body more than lower body though! You’ll do great with that 9-miler. I was worried how I’d feel with my longer runs too, but our bodies remember how to do them!

  21. I’ll get my move on by running, of course! Love that you bought the fight and showed it on a projector! All the bars here were showing it but charging crazy cover. Most people I know who watched went in with a group of friends. I didn’t watch because I don’t stay up late like that, and Clay was out of town anyway (I wouldn’t go to a bar or somewhere late at night without him). I love your tank tops too!

    • Amy that is EXACTLY why we went to get our own projector! We found out our local sports bar was charging out the rear for it. Ok yes it would have been cheaper to pay the cover but we have the projector for upcoming football games and we can do movie night outside too!
      I am with you I wouldn’t go to a bar without my better half either.

    I definitely avoid workouts I don’t like…especially strength training. I just find being in a gym so boring and limiting. I prefer working out outside and seeing beautiful views and getting to take really cool pictures 🙂

  27. Another great week of workouts! It’s always fun to have a friend for your miles!
    The workout that I hate the most is long repeat speed work. If there is ever a workout that I don’t feel like doing though, I always tell myself I have to do (because I’m probably not good at it). The only way to get better is to keep on doing it, right? Good luck with your long run coming up!

  28. I have been slacking on the strength workouts the past month or so. I miss those hard pushes that make you feel sore, but I also can not bring myself to do them!!
    I have 9 too and it is supposed to rain…I am not sure how I will get it done yet.
