Welcome to the Weekly Wrap 111 Event. Last week wrapped up our Guest Host Series here at the Weekly Wrap. I hope you enjoyed the take over as much as we did!

Weekly Wrap

I thank you for joining us in the Weekly Wrap. This link up was created to help all of us support each other in staying active, whatever that may look like for you! Let us know what is going on in your neck of the woods. How do you balance this crazy thing called life? Link up your posts each week with us, Holly from HoHo Runs and myself here at MissSippiPiddlin.
Once again I’m on the struggle bus to fit in all I had to do this week. One minute I see a light at the end of the tunnel then the next stretch is complete darkness. I’m still putting one foot in front of the other though. Thankfully other than a few bobbles here and there I continue to train for my upcoming half and get in most of my strength training sessions.

I have just 2 more long runs before my first half of the Fall season. I’ll be running in Oxford, MS at the Great 38 race. We will run the 5k on Saturday and the half on Sunday.

9/11 Memorial Stair Climb

Event #1 – Monday my husband and I joined some of our friends in a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. We climbed 5 flights of stairs 22 times to total 110 floors the same amount as the Twin Towers had. With Zero stair training, we finished in about 40 minutes. We did not race this just walk but I tell you my calf muscles remembered each and every step all week long! Proceeds from this went to local First Responders.

Weekly Wrap 111

Event #2 Sip & Support Wine Tasting. We had a wonderful evening with friends, old and new tasting and learning about wines and paired with some great food while raising money for the fight against cancer!

Weekly wrap 111

Event #3 Bret Michaels in Concert. We had an awesome time taking it back to old school days. Yes, I fell in love with the hair bands of the 80’s and 90’s and Poison was one of my favorites! They had an auction and a meet and greet afterward and proceeds went to local Children’s diabetes charities.

Weekly Wrap 110 Brain Dump

Flex it Pink Virtual 10K earlier this year

Don’t forget you can still use my referral code to get $$ off of the Flex it Pink merchandise and subscription boxes like I get each month. Here is the link! They will have the Run for the Boobies virtual run next month and you don’t want to miss the cool swag in it!

Don’t forget to join me and & the Move More Fitness Community in raising awareness for Pediatric Cancer in the #MoveForGold Event this weekend Sept 22-24. What is so awesome is it’s your choice of how you MOVE! It can be Walk, Run, Cycle, Swim, Fitness class or anything that gets you to MOVE! Hash-tag #MoveForGold. I’ll be out there right with you getting my MOVE on!

Have some fun with me on your camera roll, count back 10 pictures and tell me what it is a picture of. I take a lot of pictures and my 10th back was just last night of the drink I was drinking, imagine that? It was called the Walk me Down!

Friday is the first day of Fall, what is one sure sign it is Fall for you???

Link up below:

  1. You sure did have a busy week! The stair climb sounds very tiring and humbling. My tenth picture back is a picture from my run yesterday that I didn’t post on my weekly recap.

As always, thanks for the linkup!

    • Humbling was exactly what I felt the 3 full days AFTER that stair climb! In good shape or not, it will bring you down to the level you’re at! I do hope they continue this climb, next year I will be better prepared!

  2. That’s so great that you did a stair climb on 9/11! The 10th picture back is my StrideBox that came a few days ago. Great job getting in your workouts despite having a busy week!

  3. The 10th pic in my phone is the sunrise from this morning’s run! I love capturing shots of the sunrise. It’s my favorite time of day 🙂

  4. I love the stair climb (although, I’m sure you were feeling it afterwards). That’s a lot of steps. My 10th picture back on my camera roll is from this morning’s bike ride. We rode around a plantation and lake near our house and I snapped a pic of the scenery.

  5. You guys had quite the eventful week. What a fun sip and support wine tasting – and all those flights of stairs! How many days were you sore after??

  6. Ugh the stair climbing!! I have never done back to back races like that before! Good luck to you next weekend.

  7. The stair climb sounds like a great event for a great cause. I know that I’d have an issue with it – we had a fire drill once and I climbed down 16 flights of stairs and my calves were sore for days! I felt so out of shape. What a week, huh?

  8. I love SO MUCH about your week! My mom listened to Poison throughout my childhood, so I love Bret Michaels and the 9/11 stair climb makes my heart swell. I would love to do something like that if it were offered around here! Also love that you and your hubby run together. 🙂 Mine is not about the running at all lol

  9. Sounds like a great week! Terrific job climbing all those stairs! The Sip and Support Wine event sounds like a good one and great that it was for a good cause! The cooler weather and rain is a sure sign of Fall for me. Hope you have a better week!

  10. Stair climb – what a great way to mark that day! Wow! My 10th photo is one of my daughter and I at a wedding on Saturday! Such a happy photo! Glad I checked – it’s brightened up my Monday x

  11. What a busy week! You still did a nice job getting those workouts in! The Stair Climb looks like it was an awesome experience. I’ve done stair climbs and it’s inspiring to see the firefighters on with all of their gear!

My tenth picture was me giving my fiance a kiss on the cheek after finish 4 miles! 🙂

  12. Wow. Climbing all those stairs…I can’t imagine. But what a great cause.

Fall? I already had my pumpkin spice chai latte but now it feels like summer. The changing leaves is my favorite sign.
Darlene recently posted…Running Update: 9.11.17-9.17.16My Profile

  13. The first sign of fall is the leaves starting to turn 🙂 The neighbors house across the street is a maple…and it is half red (fall) and half green (summer)…so it is a little confused… But our KS weather is always confusing – but next week is looking more like fall than this week! Bring on the cooler temps!

  15. I’ve never heard of a stair climb before. What an interesting and unique way to remember 9/11.

    • I wish I had heard of this climb before a week in advance, I think I’d do some training runs! I’ll be ready next year and maybe it won’t knock me on my tail for 4 days lol.

  16. Wow, you had a lot of stuff on your calendar for the week! The concert sounds like so much fun 🙂 Way to get it all done.

  17. Your step climb was amazing!! You had a very busy week 🙂 Wine concerts and fitness, you rock lady 🙂

  18. I haven’t climbed stairs in a while, but I do remember how sore my calves were. I’m sure they remember it too.

  19. That stair climb sounds rough! Nice job.

We had our first snow a few days ago…that’s a sure sign of fall in the mountains!

  20. Isn’t that funny how we have to check the pictures on our phones to remember what happened 🙂

And yours was such a fun week! So many unique events.

    • I don’t know what I’d do if I had to rely on memory! Last week was a full week for me but nothing out of the ordinary this week! Balance right? Thanks Jessie for stopping by!

  21. Congrats on the stair climb for 911! I was signed up for a 911 race but it was postponed because of Irma. In fact, I could not even run 9.11 miles for 911 this year because that was the day Irma brought the rain and winds to Charleston. BUT… my money for that race still went to a good cause and that is what the beneficiaries care about, not how fast or far I ran, or if you walked the stairs, etc.

The sip and support wine tasting looks like it was a lot of fun too. Don’t worry so much about the training, the running and times will come when it cools down. Sometimes it’s nice to slow down and just enjoy life :).

    • I did enjoy participating in the 9/11 stair climb and the Sip n Support, both were for great causes! I agree, when Fall weather comes to stay I’ll fall in love with running again!

  22. I’m so glad you enjoyed the climb event! I’d love to have done it with you 😉 (my 10th pic is of me and my bike…from yesterday’s ride n the afternoon)

    • Kim, you were with me! I thought of how you actually race them! I also skipped a few steps, taking 2 at a time then I thought you better quit your legs are not near long enough for that! Thanks for the tips beforehand!
Tricia recently posted…Weekly Wrap 111My Profile

  23. My 10th picture on my phone is of the dead squirrel I found on my run! Lol and it just doesn’t feel like fall to me until the humidity is gone …but the smell of peoples fireplaces in the evenings always makes me think of Fall.

What a fun week you had …despite your heavy work load, you still managed to get in some fun outings!

  24. oops, I accidentally linked twice. Not sure how that happened! sorry. Anyhow, I was a huge fan of 80’s rock too! I went to see all of the concerts. I really don’t listen to it now, but it would be fun to go see another concert again. Poison always put on a great show!!

  25. Sounds like a very busy but fun week for you! Great job on the stair climb! When I was living in Seattle, they had a stair climb but I never got a chance to do it. Looks fun!! My 10th picture back is a scenery pic from yesterday’s run.

  28. Great job on the stair climb! Ten pictures back is a shot of my crotch. Ha! (It’s actually the start of a short video from Sunday’s run.) I loved watching Bret Michaels when he was on The Apprentice. Talented and smart! And diabetic. (Just throwing that trivia in.)

    • He is that and now he has a great platform for raising money to benefit Diabetic research! Some of the proceeds from the concert and auction went to local diabetic kids camp! I got to enjoy an evening of entertainment for a great cause, Win Win!
