Weekly Wrap 112 Fall is MIA

Welcome to the Weekly Wrap 112 Fall is MIA, just in case you are part of the 10% that could be experiencing Fall-like weather, the majority of us are not! While our summer-like temps were a little late this year arriving, that is no reason to keep them around for any longer! We need some nice cool weather! Mother N, are you listening??  It appears she has a mind of her own, meh.

Yesterday marked my last long training run before my 5k/Half Marathon weekend in Oxford, MS at the Great 38 race.  I seem to be missing that “looking forward to the racing season” feeling that I normally have. I think the heat could have something to do with it but I’ve run in this mess for years now. Maybe I need a different approach or goal or just something. Maybe everything will fall into place once I cross that finish line??

Fall is mia

#MoveForGold

I sure got my #MoveOn along with the Move More Fitness Community by participating in the #MoveForGold event on Saturday! I also had my hubs out there with me bright and early too! We were raising awareness for Pediatric Cancer.

Ahh something fun this week, I’ve all of a sudden gotten a lot more high-maintenance. I recently went to the salon for acrylic nails which I love and haven’t broken any yet and this week I had a sweet girl brighten up my hair by adding some nice fall colors. I’m trying to make it seem more like Fall even if Fall is MIA!

Fall is mia

Can you see the different shades in there? We thought it would be fun to straighten it to really see the depth. Thank goodness I don’t want to do this all the time, I haven’t made it to that level of high-maintenance yet!!! It takes way too long and with this humidity, it starts to curl back in no time!

We also had another date night this weekend. We went to dinner and then saw the movie Kingsmen. It was full of action!

What would you consider yourself high-maintenance about?

What was the last movie you saw in theatres? Anyone planning on seeing or have already seen IT?

Anything coming out you wanna see?

Cheers,
Tr!c!@

  1. I totally feel your pain about the heat. It’s really a bummer but hopefully it will get better soon.

I am definitely not planning on seeing IT because I am a total scary cat, LOL

  2. Your hair looks gorgeous! I have been getting regular pedicure this year, but I see it more as a public service to others in my yoga class. 😉 It sure was hot during my race today – I hope the weather breaks before our century this weekend. Fall weather always improves my running mojo when it finally arrives!

  3. I absolutely love your hair straight like that. But I love your curls too. You curly girls are so lucky to have the versatility. My hair is just a big brillo pad.

I feel you on the lack of mojo. I’m excited to see you at LV and PCB, but do I want to run it? Nah. I’m just not feeling it.What should we do?

  4. Your hair looks great! I am low maintenance about my hair, but I like getting my nails done. It just makes me feel so much better to have them taken care of and painted! Its been hot here too and I think Im ready for cooler temps at this point.

  5. I love your hair! I added some brightness to mine this week too. Nice job on the long run. Thanks as always for the link up

  6. I LOVE your curly hair! I think it’s gorgeous and I’m so jealous! The straight hair looks great too and I can definitely see those fall colors peeking through. 🙂

  7. Your hair is beautiful! My hair is the oppposite. My hair is stick straight. The seond I curl it and go outside it immediately get straight again! I hope the weather becomes more pleasant for you!

  8. Great week! I guess I’m part of the 10% experiencing Fall like weather because it was a lot cooler in the mornings I ran. Felt nice. I saw IT with hubby. He is one scary clown!

  9. Your hair looks great!! I am definitely low maintenance. Weather here was cool but it’s going to heat back up this week (in the 90’s) so I’ll be getting my workouts in the mornings. I’m not a fan of clowns so no IT For me. :p

  10. Your hair looks amazing! I’m not very high maintenance at all, but I do love getting a facial or a massage once in a while!

  11. Your hair looks great! I love the color! I’ll let you in on a little secret: I’m so low maintenance when it comes to my hair that I’ve never colored it. The blonde highlights are natural from the sun. I just wish that they’d stick around all year to cover up the grays that make a more prominent appearance in the winter.

  12. I bet you’ll be feeling the running love at your race!

I can definitely see the highlights — so pretty.

Like most people, I’m high maintenance about some things (food!) but not really about my nails or hair. I was actually doing pretty good with cuts this year until the summer — my hairdresser only works weekends and weekends have been a bit busy all summer long. Even with my last half over soon, I don’t really see my weekends freeing up until like December!

  13. Love your hair! I am so ready for fall temps… this heat wave is brutal for training!

  14. Your hair is gorgeous 🙂 I love the straight look, but i can imagine that took time!
Hopefully the finish line will get you motivated feeling 😉 I am over the heat too. It is always hard when everyone starts posting about how awesome it feels LOL

  15. Love your hair! I don’t straighten mine hardly at all because the same reason…the humidity has it curling up in no time. Seems pointless to waste an hour of my time making it look nice for it to look like crap again as soon as I walk outside!

I’m ready for some fall temps too…the hurricane provided us with some cooler weather for a few days but after that it went back up. Come on fall!

  16. Your hair looks gorgeous!

The heat/humidity in Minneapolis is absurb…I know I’ll be cursing the winter when it’s here, but man I can’t wait for some fall temps!

  17. I don’t think I could ever be convinced to watch IT!

  18. Love your hair but like you, I cannot spend the time to get it straight.

Fall is gone here too. In fact, we’ve had hotter weather in Sept than July & Aug. Not complaining because we have LONG winters.

LV will be about fun and seeing you guys again.

I wish I could go to PCB. FOMO will be serious. Maybe next year!

  19. Yes, we are all done with the heat! I bet once fall weather comes, you’ll get more into your race season groove. Absolutely love the gorgeous hair color!

  20. Love the hair! And nope, I’m not high maintenance. I let my hair air dry and don’t really do much with it on a day-to-day basis. Why bother? It’s curly and it’s humid all the time here!

Yessssss! I saw It (and posted a mini review in my weekly update on my blog).

  21. Fall came a bit later than usual here, but I think it’s around to stay. My mom is so tired of the heat in TX that she found a last minute flight deal to visit her “summer home”, as she calls our house. I think everyone is ready for summer to be over!

  22. Cute hair! I’m so over summer. Fall can arrive now.

  23. My hair just the opposite…it just wants to hang straight (and flat….#boring). I sometimes do the beachy waves, but it has to be a “dry” day with ZERO humidity or those waves are a big FAIL within an hour.
Kim Hatting recently posted…On The Road Again! My Profile

  24. Love the hair! I can’t really think of anything that I’m high maintenance about. I haven’t been to a movie theater in years. 🙁
Clarinda recently posted…Week in Review – 9/24My Profile

  25. My hair is definitely what makes me high maintenance. It takes me about 7 minutes to blow it dry, and then another 20 minutes to flat iron it. When I’m feeling lazy I pull it back into a ponytail while it’s wet so it doesn’t frizz. I don’t really like wearing it curly because I don’t like the way it curls and cowlicks around my forehead and how it gets so frizzy. LOL

    Thanks for the linkup!

  26. Your hair color looks beautiful and straightening it is kind of fun, once in a while right? I’m super low maintenance but I think it’s part to do with this small-kids season too. I used to straighten my hair back in highschool but it’s WAY to much work now! And, same here, the humidity un-straightens my hair instantly anyways…

I don’t want to brag, but the Fall weather has arrived here! Today has been 49 degrees and raining. Slightly depressing but I am thankful for the cool weather.

  27. Wow! Your hair looks cool straight…I don’t think I’ve ever seen it like that before! 🙂 I can imagine how hard it is to get it that way because mine is hard to get completely flat and it’s not even curly!

I’m impressed with how well Greg is coming along with his mileage …but then again, he does have a great coach with you coaching him!

Good luck this weekend in Oxford ….praying for cool weather for you guys!

  28. Your hair looks so different that way. At least you have two very pretty looks you can wear! My high maintenance item is probably a good foundation that stays put all day — with sunscreen. I pay high dollar for it. I admit, I’m right there with you in lacking excitement for racing department. Heat? Slower Paces? IDK what it is. Good luck this weekend!

  29. Ohh! Love your new hair color! I enjoy getting my nails done but even with the gel mani’s they still chip in a few days. I don’t have the time to keep up with that.
I’m so glad that they fall weather has finally decided to show up this week. Now, it just needs to stay around.
    Great week of workouts!
