Weekly Wrap 113 Fall Festival

Welcome to the Weekly Wrap 113 Fall Festival edition. I got to visit the MS Pecan Festival in my state on Saturday and boy was Fall the theme. Too bad the temps were knocking on 90! Really I was just standing in line for some kettle corn and sweat is just rolling down my back and I’m in the shade!

Jumping right into my activity for this week.

This weekend was a cutback week for me on my long run miles. My first half of the Fall season is this upcoming weekend. The temps were a bit cooler and it made a huge difference in my pace! I’m about as ready as ever for my 5k/Half Marathon weekend in Oxford, MS at the Great 38 race.

Fall Festival

Yall, you know how I told you the hubs is training to do his first half in Vegas in November, well Saturday he ran his first double digit run! 10 Miles! I’m so proud of him.

I hope you got to see my IG story, where I posted pictures of the Festival. If not I’ll leave you with a few of these.

Fall Festival

I have not idea who the lady was that stepped into my picture.

I enjoyed just walking around looking at all the vendors I came home with lots of sweets. My husband couldn’t go cause he was working so I thought I could buy my way out of any hard feelings he had. The peanut brittle was the best out of all the sweets for sure!

What do you like best about  Fall Festival or a County Fair?

Cheers,

  5. When the boys were little we did all those fall festivals–the big thing here is the corn maze. They can get quite elaborate. I’m not sure how those farmers know how to plant their corn but the aerial views of the corn is pretty amazing!

  9. How are you able to run and do leg day on the same day? If I tried that I’m afraid I’d turn into a puddle of jello! Lol

    • The key for me Jessica is Run the morning before your leg day workout. I workout at the gym about 2PM Then more times than not, DOMS has not set in until about 24 hours so I run easy the very next morning after leg day before the soreness is too bad. It’s worked a lot of the time but last week the soreness set in a lot quicker and I skipped out on my run. Not sure what was up with that!

  10. I haven’t been to a fair in years, but I would prefer a festival to a fair… the rides at the fair creep me out. I did love seeing all the animals when we went, though. Good luck with your half this weekend!

  11. That fair sounds like so much fun! My girls would love it- there isn’t much around us, we’re a little too close to NYC and have to travel west but I should make the effort. Yay for cooler weather!

  12. Fall festivals are always so much fun! I can’t wait to take my son to one again this year. We had a blast with him last year (his first one), so I’m sure there will be even more fun had this year.

  13. The festival sounds fun! We went to our local pumpkin patch/fall festival this weekend. It didn’t feel very fall-like, but the temperatures were less oppressive than they were earlier in the week!

  14. Yum, I love peanut brittle! It sounds like a fun festival. And kudos to your husband for hitting the double digit mark, that’s a huge milestone 🙂

  23. Looks like a great week – very balanced between exercise and other fun stuff! I hate it when training takes over and you struggle to fit anything else in 🙂 Good luck with the races this weekend!

  24. How fun, fall hasn’t really hit here yet so I haven’t even thought of festivals.
I didn’t realize your husbands running the half too, that is awesome! If I’m in town that weekend I may just have to come and cheer you guys on I only live a short drive across the Utah border from Vegas!

We had a tease of fall-like weather last week, but it’s back into the mid-80’s this weekend. Even so, I put out my fall decorations this past week. I got new wreaths for our front doors and love them!

  27. I love seeing all the fall decorations and events popping up everywhere. But dang, it sure doesn’t feel like fall. Good luck this weekend at the half. Racing season is here, ready or not. And that would be a NOT for me. LOL.
