Weekly Wrap 117 Camping Weather

Welcome to the Weekly Wrap 117 – If you caught the tail end of my post last week, you know we left Oxford, MS rolled right past GO (our house) did not collect $200 and headed straight to the campground! This my friends is Camping Weather!!!

Weekly Wrap

I thank you for joining us in the Weekly Wrap. This link up was created to help all of us support each other in staying active, whatever that may look like for you! Let us know what is going on in your neck of the woods. How do you balance this crazy thing called life? Link up your posts each week with us, Holly from HoHo Runs and myself here at MissSippiPiddlin.

I am just about sick of running the same route at home so I was thrilled to be back at the campground for some variety! Let’s see below what all happened.

Weekly Activity

Sunday – REST
Monday – Leg Day
Tuesday – Run 4 Miles
Wednesday – Back and Bi’s at the gym
Thursday – Speed work 4 miles
Friday – Rest
Saturday – 10 miles

It is amazing what a change of scenery will do for the running soul! Both my mid-week runs were 4 miles! What that never happens AND did you catch the Speed workout? Who am I??? Even on the days, I didn’t run I got out and walked either morning or evening.

Views like this sure make it easier to roll out of bed

I have to admit we haven’t had a campfire yet though. Our nights during the week are busy, sometimes I don’t get home til after 9PM when I work but I still enjoy being out here.

Enjoyed a fun local event: Halloween Art Show: Creepy Carnival

Thursday night my husband and I headed downtown to eat dinner and then stopped by an art show with a Halloween theme. It was small but fun, they had art but they also had a local bakery selling their delicious cupcakes decorated for the event! I have to admit the cupcakes is what got me there!

Friday night we had #datenight with another couple and ate dinner and visited before we met my daughter and her boyfriend for the opening of Jigsaw. If you not familiar with it you may have when I tell you it was part of the many Saw movies. It was good but sure left you hanging. Movies like this are not for everyone but I enjoy them.

Today we are headed to the deer field to check on things and hopefully tonight we’ll have some soup, maybe taco soup for dinner. I’m working on plans to have a gathering around the campfire on Halloween with chili and some treats!

Were you racing this past weekend? My next race is Rock n Roll Vegas. Will I see you there?

Any Halloween plans?  When was the last time you dressed up in a costume? What was it?

I hope you all have a great week!

  1. Your views at the campground are amazing! How fun to celebrate Halloween around a campfire with friends! The last time I dressed up in a costume was for last year’s Jingle Bell Jog 5K where I wore a Santa costume.

    Thanks for the linkup!

  2. Changing up the scenery is always so awesome!

I couldn’t tell you the last time I was in a costume (or what it was). We just turn out the lights (yes, we are THAT house).

Sadly I chose not to endure a rainy, Halloween-themed trail race today. I still want to do it, and if it had been a road race I probably would’ve had, but no thanks. Hopefully I’ll be doing a 15k while you guys are in Vegas. Enjoy!

  3. What do you do for work? Sometimes a change of scenery is all I need for motivation. It can change the mindset – great job on your speedwork!

  4. Its been awhile since I dressed up for Halloween! Great job with your runs this week. I could see how it would be motivating to run near the campground for a change of scenery!

    • The thing about the campground is the tenants are always changing. I think that makes it more interesting too. You’ll have rigs pull in big and small, each of them are different with different people and/or animals with them.

  5. I don’t blame you for wanting to hang out at the campground! How beautiful!

We dress up at work for Halloween!Nothing scary tho–we take care of little kids.

  6. Ooh a Halloween campground – that looks fun and kinda spooky!! This will be our first year really trick-or-treating, now that we have a 16-month-old. It should be fun! I’m sure we’ll only make it a few houses but we’re looking forward to it.

  7. Your campground photos are so fantastic! I used to like scary movies but am not that much into them. I do like creepy movies — just not the gore.

  8. What great views! I think I saw the first couple of Saw movies and already forgot who Jigsaw was but hubby says he’s the main villain. That’s cool you’re doing Vegas. One of these days I’ll do that one. Have a great week!

  9. Halloween has never really been big in Botswana, but over the last 5 years (maybe even less) it has slowly started creeping in and this past weekend we took our kids trick or treating for the first time! And hubby and I also got dressed up in costume too! It was a lot of fun for everyone!

  10. You guys are the best campers ever! I love how much you enjoy the outdoors. I’ll mostly be manning the door on Halloween and moving the kids to the next neighborhood. I overbought candy as usual. Hey it was on sale yesterday! Yes I raced this weekend and I sure will see you in Vegas baby!

  12. I keep thinking I should save my camping blog posts for next year because it’s too cold for most people to camp now – clearly I was forgetting about the south!

I don’t remember the last time I dressed up for Halloween. We just hand out candy 🙂

  13. When I saw “deer park,” I thought of this deer park in Japan that I’ve heard about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5XWIpfHOhM Soo cute!

  14. Sounds like a fun week! That’s great that you got a change of scenery 🙂 I’ve been getting kind of bored of my neighborhood runs too. The Halloween decorations helped recently though.

  17. I liked those Saw movies back in the day so I’m sure I will like the Jigsaw one. I went camping once this summer but I think I would have enjoyed it more if it was in a camper and not a tent.

  18. Check you out! Great job with your training this week!

I’m not that in to dressing up for Halloween but this past weekend at the 5k there were some great costumes. My favorite was a couple dressed up as the roadrunner and wyle coyote.

  19. I’m glad you are back at your happy place! 🙂 And lookie there — two FOUR mile runs in one week!! I used to dress up every Halloween because our office had a big contest (not any more). I think the last time was a Bumble Bee. We watched horror movies this weekend. The worst was Escape Room. Don’t bother. LOL.

  20. Oh, the Saw movies. No way. I can’t. I like scary movies, but not gory ones. I like my mind to be freaked out, but my stomach to not be queasy. 🙂 Looks like a great week for you – scenery changes are definitely helpful! Most of my Halloween energy goes to my son at this point. I sewed/assembled his Halloween costume this year. I do have some for myself, but I don’t always wear them. I was going to be a “fancy deer” (a “party animal”) this year with a fawn colored gown and a deer headband/antlers, but we ended up not going to the event that I had planned to wear that. Next year!
