Weekly Wrap 30 RnRNOLA

Weekly Wrap 30 RnRNOLA Edition

Hello from the BIG EASY aka New Orleans! Oh, wow my family and I are having a blast, my partner in crime and lovely co-host, Holly is here with me too….. Life is GRAND! We are running in the Rock n Roll half marathon. Oh yea, it can hardly believe it’s already Weekly Wrap time. This edition is named appropriately: RnRNOLA!

I am thrilled you are joining us in the Weekly Wrap Link Up. This has been an amazing journey getting to know yall! Just about every week we have a new linker and I get to read a new blog, how cool is that!?

What is this link up about? Some use it as a way to stay accountable in their training, others use it to document their fun filled weekend, (I’m raising my hand here) whatever your reason is, we are glad you decided to take the extra time and link up your posts with us. Holly from HoHo Runs and myself here at MissSippiPiddlin thank you and appreciate you!

Please share the love and visit some of the others linking up, the whole purpose here is to support each other! If you enjoy the #WeeklyWrap, share it or spread the word in your own unique way or grab my tweet here:

As I said I am back in New Orleans with my whole family, yes you heard that right! Not only do I have my husband, aka Mr. Sippi, support and sponsor, I have my daughter, her boyfriend, which is my 3rd child, yes I could claim him on my taxes and my step-daughter! Wow, that is a lot of us and guess what? We are staying in the RV! That right there takes a special kind of CRAZY!!!

Before I get to the fun part, here is how my active week played out! It was a short work week which leads to a long weekend!

SUNDAY – Rest after my half. Walking to stretch out legs. 12,300 Fitbit steps
MONDAY – PT at the gym, light leg work. 15,000 steps
TUESDAY – 3-mile run, 10,400 Fitbit steps
WEDNESDAY- PT at the gym, arms & abs, planks at home, 16,500 Fitbit steps
THURSDAY – Planned workout fell through but lots of trips in and out of the RV packing 12,800 steps
FRIDAY – Lots of walking in New Orleans 19,500 steps
SATURDAY – I started my day with 1000 steps from after midnight and ended with 23,600. Wow, what a lot of walking we did.

I really hate I don’t have more time away on these trips to fully document on here what all we do. It is much easier to snap pictures and post on social media sights so make sure to go check them out, but just to tease you a bit:

Look who I found!

Cheers from Holly and I in the Big Easy

Technology is wonderful when it works so, unfortunately, no new pictures here of race day. I can tell you I finished my race an faster than expected cause I tried my best to keep up with Holly. That woman rocks!

I also did not have any problems what so ever an no pain. Thank God for that!!

We had a great time in the Big Easy and there has not been any blood shed with my family, a plus indeed!

We are headed home this Sunday afternoon! I think our kids had a great time an I was glad they were with us. I so appreciate all the well wishes an good lucks I received this weekend. It truly carried me when I wanted to quit!
I hope you have a wonderful week an I can’t wait to catch up!!

    • It was a lot of fun this trip, and I’m glad I could twist Holly’s arm into coming! You know she is the reason I ran what I did. I tried my best to keep up with her. I did fairly well for the first 5 miles then it got harder as I always slow down, and hardly ever get negative splits, but I kept going and said I’d try as long as I could. Well I lost her at a water stop on mile 8 but I’m still happy with my finish. Sometimes It’s great to have that person to push you harder than you push yourself. It’s also great to run pain free!!! Makes you appreciate your runs so much more!

  7. So so cool! A Rock n’ Roll Race is definitely on my bucket list. You guys look like you had such a great time. I can’t wait to take my first “real” running trip with running friends.

  8. Sounds like so much fun overall! Love that you and Holly got to hang out and enjoy the weekend together. Awesome too that you ran together and that you did better than you expected to. The stars aligned for you for sure this weekend!

    • I think so Jennifer. I’m not sure if I’m more excited about the fact that I had a great race, or I ran it pain free with my knee! I am pretty dang excited about that! 🙂 You’re going to do great in your race!

    • Well I wouldn’t go so far as saying we really get along all the time. I think the key thing was my little talk with them before we left! I basically laid it out in nicer words, Don’t piss off the redhead and all was pretty much good after that! 🙂

    • Yes that is right, a special kind of crazy for sure! I was really surprised it worked out as well as it did! I think only being there 2 days was fine, anything more and we’d start killing each other!

    • Yes, I agree fully pain-free race is better than a PR!!! Holly did not even know she pushed me to finish as well as I did. Not a PR in this race but very close, within 6 minutes I think.

What a great place filled with the most delicious food and drink around. I think staying in an RV sounds like a blast. I think my husband and I will put that on our bucket list for sure. Great that you raced even faster than you thought you would! I love when that happens and obviously hate when the opposite is true! Have a great week Tricia!!

  39. Sounds like an exciting active trip! It’s crazy how much we tend to walk when we go on a vacation or something! My feet are always sore and throbbing from a trip, and even though its always fun to explore and adventure its always nice to settle up on the couch at home in the end. Glad you did well on your race!

  40. It was awesome to be by your side at this race, Sista! Hey, let’s do it again! LOL. Yay for both of us feeling strong and having a great, pain free race. It was good to meet your entire family this time too. I’ll see you very soon. I’m excited already. We’ll have some hills this time! 🙁
