Let’s get to this week’s version which is titled: Weekly Wrap 33 Doozy of a Week!

Well, it didn’t start off that way but come Tuesday we were on a downhill spiral. I do not like to wish away weeks and I sure do NOT want a do-over, I’m just glad this week is behind me.

Weekly Wrap 33 Doozy of a Week

Summary of my physical activity this week

SUNDAY – Traveling home, got in a slow 1 mile run late afternoon Β 10,300 steps
MONDAY – NO PT at the gym. 2 miles with the family at the campground. Some of the roads were under water. 14,700 steps
TUESDAY – 1 mile before work 12,000 steps
WEDNESDAY – NO PT at the gym. Much needed 4.33 miler, some alone, some with my daughter 20,000 steps
THURSDAY – Tough day. 1 cleansing mile in the mist after dark. 13,000 steps
FRIDAY – 1 mile before work 7500 steps
SATURDAY – 2.5 mile run then 1.5 with Mr. Sippi, lots of walking 21,600 steps

The family met at the campground to run and we were met with a closed sign on the gate. We can still go in even when it’s closed but we as you can see we were limited at which parts we could get too.

doozy of a week

There is a road under the 2-3 feet of water

Tuesday we attended a ceremony for my daughter where she was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa, it is the international honor society of two-year colleges and academic programs. We were so proud of her continued hard work! I honestly wish I could take credit for all her good grades but I have to give that credit to my mom.

Doozy of a week

Wednesday I had to make an unexpected trip home to wrangle up 3 of our horses who apparently broke the fence and decided to visit the neighbors. I pulled up, fussed at them and like little children they went running back into the gate. They are like 1200 lb two-year-olds sometimes!

My run streak almost ended Thursday, my grandmother passed away late Tuesday night and the funeral was on Thursday. I should have run in the morning but didn’t which put pressure on me to get it done later. Well later it was dreary and raining but thankfully it slacked up to just a very light rain and I kind of felt like it was more of a cleansing run.

My grandmother lived to be 94 years old, can you even imagine living that long and what all she has seen in her lifetime? She passed peacefully in her home, who doesn’t want to leave this earth that way. While I’m sad, I had a good visit with her last week and I do know I’ll see her again!

With being off most of the day on Thursday, Friday came and I was just confused, glad it was Friday but it just felt weird. I did not want to run this morning but I made myself do it. I didn’t want another repeat of yesterday, and as it turned out it was pouring down rain again this afternoon and into the night.

I have to say it’s only been a real challenge twice to get my 1 mile in since I’ve started. (Friday was Day #20)

I got some great news on Friday, that could not have come at a better time! I opened an email that said I had won the Moto 360 Sports watch that Fitfluential was giving away!!

This week was mentally taxing on me, I really did not think it had until Friday when it seemed to hit me like a ton of bricks. I got off and we were going to go grab a bite to eat and it was pouring down rain and I was simply exhausted. Thankfully Mr. Sippi dug deep enough in the kitchen to find him something to eat. We curled up on the couch and watched movies the rest of the night.

I got up and got in 30 minutes of running then when Mr. Sippi got home from working some this morning he wanted to go run at the campground so I went with him. I didn’t run very much but I’d say at least 1.5 miles. We had several errands to run in town and ended up being on my feet quite a bit. We ate good tonight at a steakhouse and came back home and watched 2 more movies. I have watched 4 movies in the past 24 hours!!!

Today we are supposed to be working on fence. As I’m typing this out it is early and everyone is still asleep, I figured all of us are going to be doing manual labor the rest of the day so they needed the sleep.

What projects have you had to tackle around your house?

Seen any good movies lately? We watched Southpaw, I thought it was pretty good. Also, we finally saw Magic Mike XXL, I have not words….. well not that are rated PG about this anyway. πŸ™‚

I am happy to report my #runstreak is still alive and I’ve signed up both Mr. Sippi and my daughter in a local 5k with me! πŸ™‚ The Plankaday…well I’ve missed another day but still doing them more times than not isn’t bad, wouldn’t you say?

That is how Weekly Wrap 33 Doozy of a Week turned out. I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers for me and my family this past week. As difficult as this week has been I know it will get better with time.

Tell me something happy happening in your life.

  1. Sorry to hear about your grandmother. It is wonderful that you got to see her and spend time with her the week before. Some weeks can be really tough… maybe you will look back and see that the run streak was a therapeutic way to help you focus and get through it.

Congrats to your daughter ! Such a great accomplishment.

    Sending hugs your way !

I hope to sit down and try and put them into a post soon so look for that. I’m very proud of the young woman my daughter has become. Thanks for the kind words.

  2. Tricia, I’m so sorry. My grandmother, my last living grandparent, passed away almost 31 yrs ago. And she was almost 90! My Dad turns 90 on good friday (God willing). My parents were the baby by several years, just as I’m the baby by several years. Big hugs.

Sounds like it was one of those back & forth weeks with all sorts of highs & lows. Congrats on winning the watch! I must say, that watch looks reeeeeeally cool.

I can not wait to get this watch in! I have been trying to figure out how I could purchase one since I saw the review and giveaway for it. I wonder what I’ll do about my fitbit though??

The ones where you run a 5K a day seem to me a bit much, especially with other training runs needed and rest days needed. Rest is so important! So glad you were able to get some this weekend. I have not seen any good movies lately, unfortunately. I usually fold laundry or work on my blog while DH watches TV haha. I don’t even bother turning it on when he’s not home.

Congrats to your daughter too, so awesome!
I have seen some of the flooding pictures from different parts of the country on the news, glad it was just around your campground and not your home.
Have I ever told you I am so jealous you own horses, I am! One day I have a dream to own one, I could go do a wild horse round up and get one, but paying for the upkeep after that is the problem, well that and in the end I may actually feel bad about taking a horse from the wild:)

    • Owning horses sometimes is such a pleasure, other times, not so much. But you know it is amazing what these animals can do and how they each have personalities. You may not think of them like that but they do. Sometimes I just go out there and love on them. And smell them, weird I know but I love the smell of a horse. Every so often they bring horses to be adopted, Wild mustangs, they may come from up your way but mostly these horses are so skinny I feel sorry for them. There are all kinds of requirements to meet like 6′ high fence, so much area per horse. People think it’d be great to own one then I guess they forget or don’t know just how much time is involved to domesticate these wild animals. They will hurt you in a heartbeat. Some of the handlers don’t treat them they way I would think they should anyway but I guess they are just protecting their self. I hope you can experience these beautiful creatures one day. Thanks for the kind words Kristy. πŸ™‚
