Weekly Wrap 51 Taste the Rainbow

How’s my friends doing? I’m so happy you’re joining us for another edition of Weekly Wrap, a link up to keep us all accountable in our active life. You may link up your posts with us, Holly from HoHo Runs and myself here at MissSippiPiddlin each week. For all the scoop and a few rules too, visit the Weekly Wrap Link Up Tab at the top or simply click the words Weekly Wrap.

This is the 51st edition and is named Taste the Rainbow. In case you missed my Instagram post on Thursday night, we bought another kayak. We now have them in Orange, Lime aka “Lime-A-Rita” and now Blue. So when we come down the river we will look like Skittles!

Here’s how my week in activity played out:

Weekly Wrap 51 Taste the Rainbow

This week has not been as productive as the last few. I ran a little less and at a slower pace, missed the Shred class and according to my Garmin my steps are really lacking! In my defense, I do think the Fitbit gives way more credit for steps than my Garmin does. This could be a good thing cause it should make me work harder to get them, but it really shows when I don’t.

One thing I can say is I Keep Truckin along! My trainer and I discussed really focusing on adding more weight for a few more months. I won’t be able to do this late Fall when my running picks back up so now is the time.

We’re back on the River this weekend, enjoying more camping and kayaking with friends. It’s a great way to stay active, while having fun. The water may appear dirty but really it’s the best way to cleanse yourself of everday life. Do you agree?

This past week seems like I’ve run across more and more travel quotes than lately. I’ve saved a few to throw at ya in the next week or so but I wanted to share this one “Travel before you run out of time”. Now it doesn’t say travel x miles, spend x amount of money. No, my take on it is, do and see now for we are not promised tomorrow. As I age, I am realizing there is so much I have not seen, done or experienced. I’m making healthy changes in hopes to be physically fit enough to participate in these adventures. It sure does help that I have a very willing partner to share these adventures with too.

Weekly Wrap 51 Taste the Rainbow

Shout out to Mr. Sippy for putting up with all my adventures and for working so hard to allow them to happen!

Here is my week in pictures:

As I shared with you last week, I did get around to reviewing the Polaroid Zip. Make sure to check out that post here (Polaroid Zip Review) and by all means, if you decide you want one, please use my link as I do get a little change from the sale.

If you remember, my daughter was competing in Perry, GA last week in the NBHA Youth World. Well, I’m happy to report she made it home safely earlier today and she had 2 checks and a buckle to show for it! I am so very proud of her and the work she has put into her horses.

That is a wrap! Weekly wrap 51 Taste the Rainbow is in the books!!! I’ll be soaking up a little more River water before we head home later this afternoon. Then it’s cleaning out and packing the ol’ Dutchess for the next adventure.

Coming Up

Make sure to follow me and see where my family and I are spending the last trip before school starts! Yes, can you believe it, where did the Summer go???

When does your school start back?

Will you take any trips before school is back in session?

Help me name our newest baby blue kayak? Remember mine is the Lime-A-Rita.

Cheers,

Tr!c!@

  1. Tricia – congrats on the new kayak! All your posts on Instagram are so fun! You guys are really enjoying Summer and getting the most fun out of it, which is great! I love how you’re putting this new printer to use! So creative! I think everybody’s mileage is slowing down during these hot and humid weeks!
Love the pic of you and your husband – Happiness! πŸ™‚ Have a great week Tricia!

  2. Hi!! Been a while but glad to check in and see that you are doing wellcongrats on the kayaaks…so cool!!

    Yes….time is passing so quickly.

We don’t have any real trips planned this summer but trying to get in local day trips on the weeked after my daughter’s gymnastics class.

We have done a few hikes, blackberry picking and a visit to a sunflower patch. Looking at some near by beaches for a quick trip.

The kids go back the last week of Aug, so we still have some time to get some good fun in. I am taking some time off the week before school starts to do some day trips with them too.

Glad to see you are enjoying your summer.

I have to think some about the name for the kayak….I was thinking so thing with Berry in it though.

    • Thank you Tamieka! I have been keeping up with your pictures on FB and Instagram! You are doing great with your workouts! We use to start school right after Labor Day when I was in school. Now it’s the first of August! Too dang early if you ask me!
      Thanks for checking in! πŸ™‚

  3. I’m in denial that school is around the corner! Although I LOVE school supply shopping….for the most part. There is so much to see and do, but it always make it more fun to have a “partner in crime.” The new kayak I saw on IG is so fun! Congrats to your daughter on her winnings. That’s very exciting! We’re done with family trips for a long time. πŸ™‚

  5. My “little” Junior goes back to high school August 10th! Gosh that seems earlier than normal! I just love the rainbow of colors you’ve got floating. However, I would say you look like M&Ms (‘cuz they are better than Skittles!) Surely there is a blue drink name to go with Lime-A-Rita? What’s the name of the orange kayak? Have fun on your next camping adventure!

    • Dang I wish I had thought of that, M&M’s are way better than Skittles too! So far we are going with Peach Schnapps and Blue Curacao… ??
Can’t you see our kids floating in a kayak with Blue Curacao on it? Bahahaha!

  6. Aww, I like kim’s suggestion of naming the kayak blue moon!

You look like you have so much fun. I want to hang out with you. School starts here Sept 1 so I have a few more weeks of summer left!

  7. Congrats to your daughter! By state law, most VA schools don’t start until after Labor Day – it’s called the Kings Dominion law after the amusement park who wanted student workers — and visitors? — through the long weekend. Yay for the new kayak!

  8. Another fun week for you! And congrats to your daughter! I love the pics of your dog on your kayak! Ha! My dog likes the water but I don’t think he’d like being on a boat. He would definitely freak out and fall in, ha ha! Have a great week!

  10. Congrats to your daughter on her buckle!!
I think all the little adventures are great πŸ™‚ You live like you are on vacation…that is really cool. I could use a little of that.
Coco said it…VA schoools Sept. 6th. Never before labor day. I have four more weeks of 10 hour days.
You all need to get some stencils and paint your kayak names on lol
Blue Hawaiian or a Blue Breeze if you are going with a drink theme…not sure what else is blue lol
You kept your streak going πŸ™‚ We can’t be all out beasts every week, I keep sneaking more rest days lately.
You are having fun! Enjoy it.

  14. My kids don’t start school until August 24th I think. We had planned to take a trip somewhere right before school started but the kids have cousins from Virginia that are going to be here then we only just recently found out, so that time will be spent with the cousins!! so much fun! I did have a bit of a staycation last week and took the kids fishing and hiking.

I have been kayaking once and it was on my honeymoon, my husband and I were so bad at it. So funny
Great job to your daughter with her barrel racing that takes a lot of dedication on her part and yours!

  17. Texas schools start mid-to-late August, and I’m already seeing back-to-school supplies at Target and Walmart. I know kids won’t be happy, but I know kids who get bored in August, so those parents will be thrilled to send them back.

  18. Yay for another kayak! One can never have too many IMO. School starts the day after we return from Ireland. Ugh. Too darn soon. Summer always flies.

Our schools don’t start back until the Tuesday after Labor Day, but then, the kids don’t get out of school for summer break until the third week of June. As a kid, we went back to school in early August.

    Thanks for the linkup, Tricia!

school starts for my kiddos on august 15th. we will do a few more beach trips and have a 4 day mini staycation before school. I am one of those weird moms who don’t enjoy the kids going back to school so we will drag out summer as long as possible!!!!

  25. Congratulations on the new addition to your family, A new Kayak!! how exciting!

Garmin steps are not the same as Fitbit steps. It seems Garmin counts roughly 10% less than fitbit. Don’t ask me why, but I wear both… new level of insanity is all I’m going to admit to!

I’m not good with coming up with clever names for things… but I’m excited to see what you name it!

  28. Oh so much fun!!! All of it! I love your outlook on life. Seriously life is too short and we aren’t promised tomorrow. Enjoy the moments we have with the ones we love πŸ’—
