Welcome to the Weekly Wrap 55 Racing and Fighting. Link up your posts with us, Holly from HoHo Runs and myself here at MissSippiPiddlin each week. We want to hear about your weekly recaps. You can summarize your whole week or just a small portion of it. It’s up to you!

I’m just ecstatic that our link up has grown substantially over the last year. We are on week 55 and I’d like to take the time to refresh some of our rules.

This way your circle of friends knows where to go should they want to join in on the fun! Holly and I both have tabs on our page called Weekly Wrap.
  • We do ask that you visit each of our blogs, it’s also good manners to comment as well.
  • You are not required to visit a certain number of blogs in the link up but remember the more you interact with others the more they will interact with you. We’re here to support each other. Don’t forget to show some love to our later linkers as well.
  • If you visit a blog, make sure to comment so they know you stopped by, it’s also good blogging etiquette to try and reply back to those who took the time to comment on yours.

I have to say I am just thrilled you chose to be here, I do my very best to read each and every blog and I have gotten to know some of you quite well. It is always a treat to see what you are doing and how you spend your time! Thank YOU for making this link up so great!

Hodgepodge of Interesting Finds for AugustΒ –

Let’s get right to this week’s Weekly Wrap 55 Racing and Fighting. I wonder did the fighting get your attention? No, I wasn’t doing any fighting, and my husband is fine. In case you missed it the fighting part came in the way of UFC202 and the racing part was my daughter competing at a barrel race in Jackson, MS.

I’m so proud of her, look at this beautiful buckle she won and she won a check for all of her entry fees back plus a little gas money!

Top 20 Buckle

First off this was another very active week for me, my runstreak is still going strong and I made both my scheduled training sessions and classes AND I have no more FOMO with the StepBet Challenge. Yup, I’m in, I’m on over my head but I’m IN! 6 long weeks!!! Woo, wee!

weekly wrap 55 racing and fighting

I’m not training, for anything right now. I won’t start building my mileage back up until mid-September in preparation my first Half Marathon of the Fall/Winter season. I’ll go into more detail on my upcoming schedule on next week’s Tuesday On the Run post. I still have to pull this together but hopefully putting it out here will make me do it! I’m sorry Marcia for missing TOTR lately πŸ™

This weekend was a busy one even though we were not officially traveling (a few more weeks). After my morning run, we did take a road trip Saturday to Jackson to see my daughter compete in a barrel race. We stayed there until 9PM then drove to our favorite sports bar just in the nick of time to see the UFC202 main event. I waited up for her to get home and it was like 2AM before I got to sleep. With a 5:55 alarm to 2AM this mama was spent!

Oh, I almost forgot, I got a new phone! I sooo needed one and it just so happened I was able to pre-order the Samsung Note 7 and it came in Friday. Now I won’t have to keep adding and deleting apps to use my phone, it was really getting frustrating.

Here is my week in pictures.

That is going to put a wrap on this week’s Weekly Wrap 55 Racing and Fighting. I slept in this morning and got out later to get my one mile in. I knew there would be a price to pay but I needed the rest and with a weak cool front it really wasn’t bad. It even looks like our forecast is lower to mid 90’s this week. Not fall but I’d call it a break in the heat!

How about you, getting any breaks in heat yet?

Do you use your phone like a mini-computer or just for talking and texting?

Coming up

Thank you to those who helped me with crowdsourcing last week. I have that post coming up this week so look out for it.

Here’s a teaser to what’s coming up for us travel wise:

    • Oh I do get my sleep! I can’t stay up late like I use too all the time. Getting too old for that! I had a scare about my streak yesterday I had to walk a bit. But after several good stretch sessions it was all fine this morning. Fingers crossed it was just a fluke!

    • I am going to Orlando for Labor Day weekend! πŸ™‚ There will be no Disney involved as I could not get reservations at the Fort but I hope it will allow us to see more of the downtown part of the city. I’m crossing my fingers I get to meet up with MaryBeth too.

Can’t wait to see what’s on your racing schedule for fall!

    • It’s Ultimate Fighting Challenge (UFC) Meranda. It’s ok, I didn’t follow until recently. Although I still think I look at it more from the athlete side rather than just two people fighting. It amazes me how you can train your body to handle blows and all.
Speaking of my racing, I’ve gotten slack this summer and I’ve enjoyed shorter runs!

Sooo ready for college football! Our team has their first game Sept 1, and we are going to their first home game on Sept 10 and the next day I run my marathon!
We had a divine break in the heat last week and got over an inch and a half of rain (huge deal here where we get about 13 inches a year and we were about 3 inches behind for the year) The rain soaked in and closed up some huge cracks in the ground, things might even green up! It got hot again yesterday and today and then another cold front is blowing in! YAY! and my kids go back to school tomorrow

  25. Congratulations to your daughter! We had a cooler day yesterday with low humidity and it was glorious! I don’t want to wish summer away (I love the sunshine and longer days) but I could do without 90 degrees and 90% humidity. I’m looking forward to some aspects of fall, including football! We live about a mile away from Ohio State’s stadium and it’s fun to soak in the football Saturday excitement on campus!
