Weekly Wrap #56 Stir Crazy is rightly titled because that is how I’m feeling. I’m ready for a change of scenery and some travel plans are what I need. One more work week and I’ll finally get my fix.

Activity Department

This has been yet another active week in the strength training department, still hanging on to the one-milers during the week. I did manage to get in 6 tough miles Saturday with my husband and friend Tammy. Without their motivation, it would not have happened!

It’s the end of Week #2 in the Stepbet challenge and I’m holding on. If you missed my Runfessions, you missed me doing a lot of complaining (isn’t that what Runfesions are for?) and one was about this challenge and me questioning my sanity in accepting it.

weekly wrap 56 stir crazy

4 Active goals, 2 stretch goals and 1 rest day per week

After this week I’ll be half way through my challenge and then comes the decision to limit some things in order to start building on my miles for my and Fall races. I’ll share with you what I’m signed up for on Tuesday in Marcia and the crew’s Tuesday’s on the Run post.

Something neat

I had a 3d Body Scan done on me Friday. I know this is a teaser and I really hope to put together my thoughts and more information on it in a future post, but I just couldn’t keep my mouth shut about it so I’m spilling it to you but that’s all I’m going to say about it…. ***Edited: After reading some of the comments I felt like I needed to clarify a bit. Nothing is wrong this is just a fitness reading that is all. πŸ™‚

Look for a post on this scheduled for Wednesday!!!

I feel like I’m apologizing again this week for my lack in pictures. Another reason I need a trip, ha.

Coming up

Again, I hope you’ll look for my Fall races post, see where we are headed towards the end of the week for our trip and I’m going to do my best to have coffee with the Ultimate Coffee Date girls on Saturday morning. Won’t you join us?

Weekly Wrap 56 Stir Crazy

I’m trying some different things with my blog and I’ve been brainstorming on some topics that I feel like I may be weaker in but want to write about. I’d like to crowdsource within my friends and my WW family first, if not exclusively. By doing this I hope to number one, support and share others content and also expand on my normal blogging topics.Β

If you have some info on a topic I’m needed and I use your info I will mention you and link back to your post or blog, Β I think if this goes well and I continue to stay on top of my game in planning, I’d like to have this spot at the end of my post for topics and information I’m looking for. I’m still trying to figure out an easy way to get the content I’m looking for from you. Improvements will come but let’s try this:

Your best tip for controlling your weight – I am looking for ways or tips YOU use to keep your weight in check.

I think for now, if you have content I’m looking for and Β you give me permission to use, promote and link back to you, then leave me a comment here and I’ll email you or contact you through social media.Β

  1. A 3d body scan definitely sounds interesting! Looks like another strong week. Nice job keeping up with the challenge!

  2. I’m excited to hear about this 3D body scan!!! I hope this was just for fun and that there isn’t a serious problem going on.

I’m also excited to read where everyone will be racing this fall! It’s so fun to follow along and support each other!

    • Oh no it was just for fun Meranda. Even though I weigh myself I know not to put much stock in a scale. This scan has a much better picture of your overall fitness. I only hate I waited this long to find out about it. I’d love to see how far I’ve come just over the summer.

  3. You are doing better than me with the race planning! I don’t know what I’ll be doing after Chicago (except PCB that is). I know you’ve got a fun holiday weekend coming up and will enjoy every second. I’m still addicted to that BeFit protein powder too! Are you thinking about limiting some of your classes or strength training? Have a good week!

    • The first change in my schedule is going to be letting go of the run streak first. I think I can keep up with the training and classes for a few weeks. I am really hoping the rest days from running will really help me to continue though but we will see.
I still love the BeFit protein too. I’ve been upping it so I wish it didn’t cost as much.

  4. My week involves another big road trip to Pennsylvania, which means the blogging will come to a stand-still as soon as I am seated in the truck LOL. I might be able to do some commenting if we have good wifi, but it’s difficult doing it with “just my data.” And bringing along the laptop will also be a big help…assuming I”ll even have any free time. UGH. I’m craving some down time!!
Kim Hatting recently posted…Doing things I haven’t done in awhile….or at allMy Profile

    • Blogging on the road is no joke, I don’t know how people do it. I have time, yes but reading like that makes me car sick. I’m so excited to hear about this Coach. Tell me Kim, what was your number one reason to get one? Do you have a race goal in mind? A certain time or pace to hit, smarter training? I’m just curious. Hope you have a good week and safe travels to you and your family!
Tricia recently posted…Weekly Wrap 56 Stir CrazyMy Profile

      • nothing specific on the coach…I’ve done well on my own, so I thought working with a coach would helps things go even better. I know there are probably some things I have overlooked with my training in the past, and I can only be so objective on what I’m dong right/wrong. I would like a 26.2 PR, but given the hilly course of this next marathon, that will be difficult. Also, I need someone to keep me accountable on all the stretching/warm-up/cool-down stuff that I tend to “forget.”
Kim Hatting recently posted…Doing things I haven’t done in awhile….or at allMy Profile

        • I see. I’ve considered a coach on and off and was just curious your thoughts. I do see how well MaryBeth is doing under Coach M. I know for a fact there are things I’m not doing and won’t on my own. Thanks for this! πŸ™‚

  7. A 3D body span? What are they looking for? That crazybone that signed you up for that stepbet challenge! You rocked it this week! How do I keep my weight in check? I bring my lunch to work! Helps keep me lean, mean and extra $$ to pay race registrations!!! See you soon!
Mary Beth Jackson recently posted…August week four is hot and heating up!My Profile

    • No alarm, the body scan was for fun only just to see where I am. It takes really accurate measurements and such. I know I didn’t mean to make it sound bad.
I need to get rid of that bone so it will not make me doing things like this again!!! Bring lunch to work is a great way to keep weight in check, and money in the ol’ back pocket! Love it!!!
      See ya soon!

  8. Hi Tricia – I totally understand the feeling of getting stir-crazy. I’m one of those people who constantly need to do something, try out something new and explore – otherwise I get stir crazy fast!
Lack of pictures – I feel that sometimes I don’t have enough pictures for my running log either. It’s so hard to run and stop your momentum just to take a picture. I see something gorgeous or interesting and I’m thinking if I stop now I might totally not get my pace back. It’s true most of the time:) Lately my kids have been taking some of the pics you see in my running log which is so fun!
If you see anything on my blog that you would like to use I will for sure share it with you anytime. Just let me know. Linking up my log tomorrow morning – it’s still in the works! πŸ™‚ Have a great week Tricia!

    • After you saying that not necessarily about traveling but the need to try something new and be doing something sounds just like me! I didn’t realize it past the travel part but that’s exactly it. I’d even go as far as saying I’m not a very content person. Not in a bad way I just want to improve I think.
I really do wish I could get my husband more involved in my blogging. He could help me get great pictures, ones I can’t get alone. I’m still working on that. My kids take plenty of selfies and such but I’m quite certain they would all of a sudden forget how to take a picture if I asked them too for my blog.
Hope you have a good week Ilka, sounds like the depression went south of yall right?

    • Coco I’ve never asked what professional field your in to travel so for work? I would love a work trip, I think anyway but that’s because I don’t get too. I’m sure if it was a requirement I wouldn’t want too.
The body scan is just for fun. A neat way to measure fitness. Stay tuned on an update for it. Oh and hey, I’ve got a date with you and Deborah this Saturday!! I’m bringing my big cup too! πŸ™‚

I know what you mean about going stir crazy– I haven’t traveled in so long because of the baby and this weekend we are finally going on a road trip!! Hopefully driving several hours with a 2 month old isn’t toooo insane!

Tip for keeping weight in check? Staying active- even if it’s just walking or exercise videos- and writing down what I eat. It’s amazing how easy it is to forget about those 3pm m &ms at 4pm and have a brownie…and again at 7pm.

  33. Hey Tricia! I always love seeing all of your travels! I want to know more about the 3D body scan…I need to get an annual blood workup sometime…just to see where all my levels are at.

For me, keeping my weight in check means that I need to keep my hands out of the cookie jar and get in a morning run! When I get in a good workout (any time of the day), I am less likely to eat things I shouldn’t be…because who WANTS to eat those cals that were just torched?! Also, since I started eating more Paleo based (no GMO, no dairy, no processed anything), I have not weighed myself, but my clothes are fitting a little better and I am getting more muscle tone. My body is learning to use my fat for fuel and not just carbs… It takes a little while to get used to, but I am doing good 80/20 πŸ™‚

  34. Excited to hear about your fall race plans! And also your body scan. I’m not really sure what those entail, but I’m glad it was not done because anything is wrong.

I’m not sure what fall racing looks like for me yet. I haven’t signed up for any HMs because I was not wanting to train in the heat, but now I am sad I have nothing to train for right no

  35. Ooh, cool! I look forward to hearing about your upcoming race and your body scan, too!

I don’t have any mind-blowing tips for weight control except running and having goal races in mind! A race goal always keeps me motivated and I noticed I eat better on days I exercise. Isn’t it funny how that works?!

You are kicking butt in the step competitions, I am hoping to bump my own mileage up this week so maybe I’ll be a bit more competitive, sadly last weeks steps were minus 3 runs all just walking around campus, which is good I guess but not actual workout steps, LOL
Hey if you figure out a magical way to control the weight definitely share! I’m in the process of attempting to loose a lot of pounds right now. All the injury things I had in the past really added up on my body in the form of way to many pounds, LOL It’s really not a good excuse, but oh well…
My only weightloss tip is chew a lot of peppermint gum, besides it making you want to workout harder and longer. If your anything like me, I can’t stand the taste of food with peppermint in my mouth so it makes me loose my appetitite significantly, LOL
