Panama City Beach Half Marathon & Holottafun

What a week for sure! In case you missed it last week I had the opportunity to meet up with 7 other ladies for a #HOLottaFun girls weekend at the beautiful Panama City Beach, FL. Oh yea, there was also a race too!

Weekly Wrap 71 Blogiversary

Today, December 11 marks the 2nd anniversary of this blog. I can hardly believe my baby has turned two! Let’s hope it is not the terrible two and instead the terrific twos! Just for kicks and giggles if you’re interested here is my 1 year blogiversary post. I really feel like I am the #badmomma cause with the weekends 2 races and hanging out with friends I did not give my blog the celebration it should. Ahhh I know such a bad mama!

But I can say it this has been an amazing year for me indeed! Not to put a damper on my parade, in 2017, I have got to find some balance. Balance between my love of travel, my love for racecations and love for the Weekly Wrap and time for it all!

In true Weekly Wrap Style, here is my Workout Summary… Yey it’s back!

Blogiversary

I took it easy this week, I have really put my body to the test over the last couple of months and I really want to get through 1 more half before 2016 comes to an end. Ahhh did you catch that? Yes as of this morning (Sunday) I finished my 4th of 5 Fall half’s in only 6 weeks.

Mississippi Gulf Coast Half Marathon

I also got to run with my husband in the 5k on Saturday. If you need a laugh, make sure you go back to my Instagram and find out the #epicfail I was responsible for the day of the race!

Ran side by side with my husband

I really brought home the bling this weekend. Not only did I get 2 medals but also a pretty cool Tray for doing them both…..and if you do the Mississippi race AND the Louisiana race, you get even more bling! Soooo all these cool kids are doing it so I believe if the stars line up I’m going to try to get in as well!

I really had another amazing weekend with friends. It is such a fun time getting to hand out with running friends all weekend! This is why I can’t stop racing, it is just too much fun! Meeting new people is the best too!

How long have you been blogging? How many name changes have you gone through?

Ever ran a back to back race any distance over the weekend? I am whooped and really need some serious recovery ideas.

Coming Up:

I do have most of my recap on the Panama City Beach race done. I really hope to share it with you this week! If all goes right, New Orleans will be my final race of 2016! Wish me luck!

Cheers,

My blog turns 3 in January. I cannot believe how many wonderful people I have met through my blog. Truly, it has changed my life!

  8. Wow- congrats! That’s a lot of races! The only time I did back to back racing was the RW weekend last year… 5k and 10k on Saturday and the half on Sunday. It was so much fun- but my body was definitely ready for a break after that!

  9. Happy Blogiversary! It is funny when I look back a few years at how the blogging thing has grown. I feel blessed to have met you! I am so thrilled that blogging gave me some running buds 🙂 I did change my blog name once.
I love that you and the hubs ran together, that is so sweet! and that you had more meet up time this weekend. It looked like great fun! I wish I had some race options here right now I’d be out there running too 🙂

  10. Dang, you are a busy gal! Congrats on the Blog bday! Mine turns 4 in January! My only regret is that I putzed around for almost 2.5 solid years before figuring out the link-up thing, so it got very little exposure and not much interaction…but it’s a log of all things running, especially since I’ve been doing marathons, so I’m glad to have it as a reference to my journey 😉 You need to haul that RV out my way…can you put chains on the wheels? (you know…snow) 😉

  11. Happy Blog b-day! I’ve been blogging for almost 10 years (!!) but I had some other blogs first. My current one (same name) is from 2006, but it was a craft blog until about 2014. I used to do craft fairs and had an Etsy and all that. When I took up running and realized people talked about it online, I switched topics! 😉
Congrats on another race!! The back-to-back races sound tough, but fun.

Happy Blogiversary!! I am such big fan of your blog, I just love your stories and following your training. Keep up the great work! I started my blog in June 2013…I have to say year 3 has been a little rough for me LOL, but year 2 was awesome! 🙂

  14. You’ve been doing a lot of running ! I am taking a break at the moment and only running a couple times a week. I am enjoying concentrating on weight lifting, I needed the variety.
Congrats on your blogversary. Mine is January 1st, it will be 3 years. I have decided to take a blogging break. While I love it, I want to spend some time on some other things.

  16. I’ve been blogging for 10 years. Doesn’t seem right. I’ve gone through 2 name changes and a pretty significant hiatus.

Congrats on all your running and best of luck on your final half of 2016.

  20. When I was first reading this I read “HYDRATE” on Friday as “HIBERNATE” and I thought..I need to do that too, it’s cold out there! Happy 2 year blogiversary! I can’t believe my blog will be 6 next April. I don’t blog as much as I used to though. I used to post nearly every day! I go back and read some older posts sometimes and see people in the comments who don’t blog anymore and It makes me a little sad, old blog friends that have disappeared, but it is fun making new ones too

  23. Happy Blogoversary! And Congrats on Panama City!! Love that medal!

  24. Congratulations on your blogger-versary! I love the medals from the 5K and when races do that to recognize ALL runners. With all those half marathons I think it was really smart to take a cutback week too because that’s a ton of races back to back… but I don’t blame you to do them because half marathons are pretty fun and it looks like you’ve enjoyed each race.

  25. I’ve been blogging a long time. 2 name changes.

    Love your blog. Happy anniversary.

You are a half marathon queen. Congrats on another successful one.

The most I’ve run was a 15k and the a 5k the next day and a 10k & 5k in the same day.
Darlene recently posted…Monday Running UpdateMy Profile

  26. I’ve done back to back running at something like Ragnar, but my only back to back racing was done immediately. Like, I ran a 10K and then another 10K maybe 30 minutes later. That was definitely tough, but it was over and done before I really had time to think about it. I think another race the next day would have been way tougher.

If it were me I would toss on some compression sleeves & focus on a little bit of stretching each day, but mostly on staying hydrated & eating well.

    HAPPY BLOGIVERSARY!

  27. Wow, only the 2nd anniversary of your blog? You’ve done amazing with it! I’m a newbie blogger!!! As for back to back races…Gasparilla weekend in Tampa! Biggest advice after doing these 2 years in a row is recovery time. I was always in the middle of marathon training during this weekend and felt that I needed to dive back into the miles. Talk about a beating after 4 races in one weekend!

  28. I’ve gone through a few different blogs, but never changed the name and kept the same blog. There are few out there just wasting away into the internet.
    Congratulations and happy anniversary!

  30. Happy Bloggiversary! I feel like you’ve been around longer than 2 years. : )
January will mark my 8th year blogging. I’m on my third blog name. Yikes! Congrats on the back to back race! Fun aren’t they? I’ve done three of those this year (I think) and yes, the bling haul is significant!

  31. Those are some seriously cute tights! Congrats on another successful race. Nice medal too. I’m glad you and Mr. Sippi enjoyed the 5k. My blog will be 3 in the summer. It took me a while to work up the courage to his that publish button. LOL. Awww… that’s a good pic of us. I don’t have it. Send it, OK? You’ve had a wonderful year and I’m glad I was there for some of those races to share it with you!

  32. Happy Blogiversary! Ice baths, epsom salt baths & massage are your friend! I ran the Disney Star Wars Dark Side challenge this past April and now I’m addicted to challenge racing. I’m currently training for the Gasparilla Amber challenge, which will be 3 races in one weekend! Ice baths are my friend, as well as massages. I’ve been doing them regularly throughout my training and they’ve really helped.

I’ve been blogging for almost 3 years now- I’m so glad I started it. I don’t always have innovative ideas to write about, but it’s really helped me keep track of my running over the last three years and keep track of how I’ve evolved!

  33. Congratulations on #4 of 5!! Very very impressive! You won’t know what to do with yourself when you finish #5 race!! I did two weekends of back to back racing back in the fall and I was at a complete loss on what to do when I didn’t have a race… I was close to a meltdown!

  34. Happy blogiversary and WAY CONGRATS on your half marathon streak!!! I’m on blogging year #3 and have stuck to the same name, though my header design has changed about a million times 🙂 I think I found one I’m sticking to now! The only “back to back” races I’ve done were those marathons two weeks apart. Same weekend races sound fun! Be sure to sneak in some recovery time!!!

Have a great week Tricia! Linking up my post later!

  38. Happy blogiversary!! And congrats on yet another race and even more bling! I’m amazed at your aerobic capabilities! I would be dead on my feet if I ran 5 half marathons in 6 weeks. But that’s probably the main reason I only do a half marathon race once a year, lol!!!
I do hope you can recover a bit before your last race of the year. Epsom salt baths, foam rolling and stretching work wonders!
Looking forward to the Panama recap!!

  39. I’ve done back-to-back races twice: last year at the Myrtle Beach Mini Half Marathon (and coastal 5K) and this year at Disney’s Wine & Dine Two Course Challenge. I like the back-to-back races, especially if they are part of a series and I get extra medals! Ha! Congrats on your double races this past weekend!

I’ve been blogging since 2007…I started off with a blog focused on handmade and indie artists then moved on to a fashion blog, and now I’ve been at my running/fitness blog for 4.5 years. Each blog had a different name and both of the old ones are still out there on the interwebz. 🙂

  40. Happy blogiversary! And congrats on yet another half! What an accomplishment to run so many in such a short time!
