Weekly Wrap

The trend of the weeks flying by continues in 2017! Right at half way through this month already!

Weekly Wrap 76 GeauxRunLA

With two races packed into this weekend and no time to start on my post early, it is going to be bare minimum post this week. I will tell you I had a pretty good week in activity. Made it to both my personal training sessions at the gym this week, continued to get up early and walk and/or run with my daughter AND I even participated in a 7 Day plank challenge with Kim from Running on the Fly. Thanks Kim for motivating me!

 Weekly Wrap 76 Geauxrunla

We took off after work on Thursday and got on the road. Had a few bumps in the road, one in the form of someone backing into my car that we were towing behind the RV at a gas station. We were already going to be late getting to where we were going to stop, this made it even later. 🙁

Friday the Thirteenth

In the heart of VooDoo country, I had much better luck today than I did on Thursday the twelfth in Mississippi, that is for sure. I joked that I left all the bad juju there.

We got to meet up with our fun couple Jodi and Ricky at the Louisiana Expo. It is never a dull moment with these two!

Weekly Wrap 76 Geauxrunla

Caught ya taking selfies on my phone this time!

I’ll have more in my recap of the race but hey look what I found there:

weekly wrap 76 Geaurunla

For an early dinner, we went to a local favorite called Chimes. You know for two bloggers and one media guy, none of us got a single picture! Crazy I know, but the conversation, food and atmosphere were awesome!

We got them checked into their hotel, I’m wondering how they made it this whole time without us helping them check in!! Kidding!! No, they were kind enough to let us follow them to the hotel then to this super cool place called Coffee Call! I have to say they would give Cafe Du Monde a run for their money on beignets!!!

After we left them we make a stop before heading back to the KOA Campground we were staying at.

Saturday Race Day

I’m so sorry for the teaser! Really I am, just did not get to work on the blog before it went live! You’ll have to catch the recap, or head on over to my Instagram or other social media accounts!

That is going to wrap up this Weekly Wrap 76 GeauxRunLa. Hoping if you are off on Monday you have a great day! Think of us who have to work ok please?

Was the weather better where you were? Did you race?

  3. Really sorry about the car, Tricia — always such a pain, and usually at the worst moment, of course (not that there’s ever a good time).

Beignets — yum! Hopefully I can drop a few pounds before NOLA and really enjoy myself. Of course most people look forward to the drinking, what can I say, I march to a different drummer: food!

We had one of our supported runs/races today. Really nice weather (although you’d think it was cold). Looking forward to your recap!

Can’t wait to see you in Nola! I hope we have good running weather there. None of this sticky hot mess either!

  11. Ahh i want your race recap now!! Sorry to hear about your car…Yikes! No racing for me this weekend – BUT I did do a 4 mile kickoff run for our May marathon in Cleveland. I’m planning on doing the half!

    • Melissa, I sure intended to have the recap already done, but nope! Just hasn’t worked out yet! Hate to keep you waiting!! 🙂 🙂 I saw where yall had a group run for the Cleveland marathon. Loved your leggings too!

  14. I saw a 5-car accident complete with fire trucks and ambulances while taking the teenager to school on 1/13. What a terrible way to start the day. I can’t imagine what happened since roads were clear. Sorry about your car! That’s a bummer. How fun to meet up with Jody again! Can’t wait to hear more!

  15. haha, that is exactly I how I feel about planking.
I was living vicariously watching all the fun on Instagram this weekend! Well expect for the fog, it looked humid at your race! I can’t wait to hear all the details 🙂
It stinks someone hit your car. Headaches…always something that has to be a headache.

    • I laugh at your planking comment now that you too have joined in. It’s the wine right??
Yes the whole car accident put a damper on my weekend but really it wasn’t as bad as I initially thought when I first saw it and marched back into my RV wanting to Scream or cry I didn’t know which!

  16. Great job on your races this weekend! It looks like y’all had a blast! Great job on your planking too! Can’t wait to read your race recap! Have a great week Tricia!

  17. At least all of the fun, fun, fun you had in LA over the weekend made up for the unfortunate incident with the car! I’m looking forward to reading all the details.

  18. I hope your car is okay!

I have to work today. 🙁 My company is headquartered in Germany, and since Germany doesn’t do MLK day, ain’t nobody get the day off. HMPH. At least there wasn’t any traffic on my way in to the office?

  19. i’m glad you weren’t hurt, but that’s awful that someone wold just back into your car. People just don’t look and come right on out.

    • That is exactly what she did, yes it was a woman driver in a truck, that did no damage what so ever to their vehicle! She simply could not have looked at all cause I was big as in RV…. pulling a car on a car dolly, hello!

  20. Seriously? Someone hit your car? How did this not make it’s way into the group text??? 🙂 Glad you had a great weekend and a great race! I’m still day-dreaming about mimosas!

  21. I’m so bad at plank challenges! I get distracted easy and would really rather do 100 situps 🙂 Sorry your Thursday wasn’t the best, but it sounds like it got better from there!

  22. My race expo had that Community Coffee too. It is so good. Our race, Charleston Marathon, was sponsored by it. I would love to be sponsored by coffee, haha. Will wear your singlet for free coffee!

So sorry about your Thursday and someone backing into your car just before Friday the 13th =(. I’m glad at least none of you were in the car and everyone was okay but it’s still a hassle to deal with insurance and claims.
Amy Lauren recently posted…Weekly Rundown: January 8-15My Profile

    • OMG being sponsored by coffee yes and where do I sign up!!! That would be awesome can’t you just see all the cute phrases for race shirts!!!
The whole car accident really ruffled my feathers at the time but in reality I am very grateful nothing more came of it. So far their insurance is going to pay for the damage to my car.
