Weekly Wrap 77 It doesn’t feel like January

I know I left you all hanging last week and I apologize for that. I’m still trying to wrap up my recap of the Louisiana race weekend. If you’ve been following along on my social media accounts you know I had a ball this past weekend and not too bad a run either.

Bringing back the Weekly Workout Summary, it goes something like this:

weekly wrap 77 doesn't feel like january

Sunday races always mess me up as far as my routine starting off the week. I was still feeling the effects of my run on Monday which is normally leg day, so I had to pass on it. I hate missing because it’s just that much harder the next week but I also know I must give myself time to rest and recover.

The weather also challenged me this week as well. Thursday I needed to get in 4 miles and without just getting soaked that morning I chose to try for after work to get in the rest. Thankfully it quit in time. Overnight storms delayed our Saturday morning start a couple of hours but my running buddy Tammy and I got in 7 solid miles.

It sure doesn’t look like it was storming hours before

This is why I love this place, it’s so peaceful in the early morning hours

Look who strolled into town for a lunch date

This week I got to meet up with Teresa from Finding Fabulous at Fifty (Are you following her???) for lunch. She was in town during the day and it’s the first time I’ve seen her since her move. I hated to get back to work we had such a great time.

2017 Nuun Ambassador

I am tickled to be a part of the Nuun family again in 2017, this is my third year to represent Nuun. I am never out of this stuff. I keep it at work and add it to my water.

That is going to wrap up this Weekly Wrap 77 It doesn’t feel like January recap for me. I am liking this mild weather nothing like running in a tank and shorts in January in Mississippi!

Has the weather been pretty normal for this time of year for you?

Ever heard of Smash Run?

Cheers,
Tr!c!@

  1. We’ve had crazy weather this week, but it’s pretty nice to not be freezing all the time!

I’ve never heard of a smash run! What is it?

  2. I’ve never heard of smash run what is it? I kind of like a Sunday race because then I can get a good night’s sleep on Friday night in theory.

  3. I hadn’t heard of SmashRun either so I just Googled it. I assume since you mention it that you’ve just started using the app.

Our weather has also been unseasonably warm, but very dreary with an ongoing misty rain. I’m ready for snow or spring; whichever decides to show up first. Just get me out of this dreariness!

  4. So now I am curious, what is January usually like in Mississippi? I just assumed it was always warm down there..lol. It’s been pretty warm here too but I’m not complaining!

Are those times on Thursdays workout calendar? If so, what do they mean?

  5. I am loving the milder weather! I needed that little reminder that we will see these temps again before too long.

  6. My weather has been cold (which is typical for January), but there has been almost NO snow (which is very odd). We did get some ice last week (and schools and businesses were closed all day)…and I may have had a small altercation myself on the ice….#klutz

  7. The weather has been so bizarre this winter! But as long as it doesn’t snow, I’ll take it!

  8. It’s been warm here too! And we have had lots of rain. I am sure it would be ice and snow if it were colder.

  9. I have not heard of Smash Run & while it’s been mild (but not tomorrow), it’s definitely not shorts weather. At least not for me. You never know, Darlene could be crazy enough, we had some mild temps this weekend (almost 50, LOL).

Always fun to meet up with other runners/bloggers!

  10. I say, if it’s going to be warm here — then we need some sun, green grass and flowers to go along with it. Enough said. I got your message about Smash Run but haven’t really looked into it as I’m not running much yet. But, I will! It looks like you have the perfect spot at the campground.

  11. Your 7 miler looks like perfect blue skies! Gorgeous!!

It’s been rainy and overcast here, and we’re all just about over it. Bring us back the sun!! That said, I had a glorious rainy trail run today. πŸ™‚

  12. Our weather has been all over the place. The warm temps haven’t coincided with my running days, but at least I got my long run in before the rain on Friday. I keep reminding myself that February can be frigid and snowy around here!

  13. What is a smash run? I am not sure what January is supposed to feel like anymore- it is crazy time here! Congrats on the NUUN program- I need to look at that next year- I drink it all week long! Enjoy that view!!!

  14. I’m sure you earned that Monday rest day after Sunday’s race! January has been unusually warm here. It was in the 60s and near 70 this weekend, and I think it only snowed like once or twice and then it never stuck. I’ll take it, but I’m worried it means a sweltering hot summer!

  15. I was selected as a nuun ambassador too. It comes at a fitting time because I sure drank a lot of it this past week to recover from some hot runs. The weather has been crazy this winter and your area has had it bad with storms. I’m glad you got some good workouts in even if you had to miss leg day. I feel like recovering is way more important after a race, anyway.

  16. It was so warm here this weekend too – it was great! I loved every minute of it – running without tons of gear on, in capris, etc. Glad you got in some great workouts this week! As usual, right? And congrats on nuun again!! Jealous!!

  17. Sunday races can really throw your following Running week off, you’re so right Tricia. It takes me 2 days after a race to find my running groove again. Congrats on becoming a Nuun Ambassador again. I was chosen this year as well. I really love Nuun!! How fabulous that you got to meet Teresa!
    Have a great week Tricia!!

  18. We have yet to have real winter here. It’s been capris weather or warmer nearly every day!

Congrats on the nuun ambassadorship. I don’t like the new version so I’m hoarding my old stuff while I figure out what to replace it with.

  20. Congrats on being a Nuunbassador again! Good stuff! That woods picture either looks really peaceful or really eerie… but I am used to wide open spaces, not a lot of trees where I live πŸ˜‰ My husband teases me about it, but I get a little freaked out when we go to the mountains and there are so many trees everywhere you can’t see anything! It’s a thing and I’m not alone!

  22. We’ve got Smash Burger but no Smash Run. Can you tell where my mind is? Spring seems to have arrived in Chicago too. So weird and I’m afraid we’ll pay for this in April. How great to see T and congrats on the Nuun gig. I love that stuff!

  23. I totally agree that it doesn’t feel like January, at least not in Philly! But I’m NOT complaining since that means I get to spend more time runnning outside! We had some rain this weekend, but not too crazy. Your workouts for the week look great, we always do what we can! Looking forward to your recap!

  26. I’ve never heard of Smash Run – but I just looked it up and it sounds super interesting. I usually only use my Garmin once a week or so in the winter since most of my runs are indoors. So I wonder if that would work as well?

It doesn’t feel like January here either. I ran in shorts & a long sleeve top on Saturday and was TOO WARM! I wish I had worn a tank top! Not sure what this will mean for weather the rest of the year though… :/

    Thanks for hosting! πŸ™‚

  27. Congratulations on the Nuun Ambassadorship! That is fantastic news!

Congratulations on the Half marathon too!

I love the leggings you are wearing in the 7 mile picture!

  28. More Nuun please! I no longer drink sports drinks since I can get Nuun a lot of places now. It’s great.

The weather actually warmed up both days, so I ran outside on Saturday. It felt great, but I really need to slow down. I’m used to more air in Dallas, and Boulder’s air is thin. I was huffing and puffing, but my body didn’t want to slow down.

  29. I’ve not heard of the smash run, but sounds fun! We’ve had crazy warm weather this past weekend too!

Can’t wait to get back to wrapping with you guys. I miss you!

  32. Looks like a good week of training! Sunday races usually mess me up as well. It seems like you rested and recovered well though! I never heard of smash run and oh my I have been going through Nuun here lately like it’s going out of style!! Love that stuff!!!
Hope you have a great week ahead. Looking forward to the race recap!!

  33. The weather has been strangely (and wonderfully) warm this week around here! The snow is melting and it even rained a little, making a slushy and icy mess.

You are back at it so quickly after your half – tough lady! Strong week of workouts and a big congrats on being a Nuun ambassador. I love Nuun products! One more thing – your outfit on the Saturday 7-miler is my favorite. Wild patterns on capris and leggings is the best!

  35. We’ve had crazy weather too! They cancelled a local race Sunday morning because overnight storms came through and then we had a tornado touch down in my area yesterday evening! It’s insane- that type of weather usually doesn’t happen until closer to summer! Glad you had a good week- I’m getting back into the swing of things too. Like you, starting off the week with a race kind of messes me up because I feel like I need more recovery than normal in the first part of the week.

  36. it seems like there was crazy weather everywhere-it rained almost everyday this week in LA! and I am also a nuun ambassador this year and super excited for the opportunity!

  37. I’ve never heard of SmashRun either! The weather seems to be all over the place here: beautiful blue sky’s and sunshine yesterday and now a freezing rain storm! Fun times!
I too am a Nuun ambassador!

  38. I have no clue what a smash run is LOL if it involves doing drinking and running I’m in πŸ˜‰
That is so fun you had a run buddy lunch date.
I couldn’t run in the heat without Nuun, it really keeps me from getting nauseous.
You look like you have been having lots of fun runs!!

  39. I had a total week off… it felt weird. I’ve never heard of smashrun, but will have to check it out. This weather here is just nuts – much warmer than normal… and not as rainy.
